Mf will beat the shit out of Akutagawa ten put on the goofiest nask known to man
Hey look a kitty cat on the street- I exclaims with excitement
I was then shot 57 times
Hey look it's Akutagawa finding inspiration and courage to fight his literal inner demon and simultaneously the being that ensured his early survival by reflecting on his "rival"
Me carrying the package of slight frustration and undying perseverence
Here we have 3 morally ambiguous men in a library full of dead people's abilities seen from the perspective of a roach
Atsushi, you sweet summer child
Main manga spoilers
I mean i know this has been highlighted many times before, especially in the recent main manga chapters but the different ways in which they both see Dazai is glaring. Atsushi first saw him as some sort of savior, considering that without him offering Atsu to join the agency he would never find a way to control Byakko. I suppose his perspective has already began to shift, starting with this manga panel in dead apple, then continuing until thw main Manga flashbacks of ehat Akutagawa has been through.
For Akutagawa, Dalai has primarily been an abuser he developed a toxic bond with. Even with how painful it must have been for him, that strive for recognition is what kept him going at first. As the story progressed he found new anchors to keep him from loosing it (the deal with Atsushi maybe?). It doesnt erase the harm that has been done, especially with Dazai continuing to rear his head in recent chapters (him passing Aku's old coat to Kunikida to give it to Akutagawa)
They have such unusual love languages
Searched up bsd on vinted
Did you guys know that Kyouka's ability actually has a name? I just figured that out while reading the beast light novel. From what I found out there's no author named Yasha Shirayuki, so I guess shes not based off of anyone

Chat how many Atsushis per sketchbook is too much
Hey, so I think its been said over and over again already, but i just want to remind everyone calling asagiri a creep one thing.
Showing something doesnt necessarily mean supporting it. What we got here was Kyouka nearly confessing her love, atsushi either being clueless (or purposefully trying to stop her?) and Kyouka backing out. She had a crush on him.
The obvious problem is that Atsushi is an adult while Kyouka is not. Or rather it would have been a problem if they chose to act on it. We have to remember its a relatively common phenomenon for teens to develop crushes on adults, for example authority figures. It happens. It becomes wrong the moment the adult chooses to engage in this relationship. Its their responsibility to reject the child, not the child's. Here? Atsushi didnt say he returns her feelings or anything, but since she backed out he was spared from explicitly condemning her.
Let's also remember that Kyouka as a character comes from a messed up background. It hasn't even been that long since she left the mafia. When her parents died she seemed too young to be educated about things like romantic relationships, and the mafia? Its a horrible place for a child to grow up in. I want you guys to recall one scene, where after Kyouka was rescued from the mafia she offered to help atsushi by 'distracting the enemy' and lifted her kimono up, showing her thighs. Atsushi was understandably horrified, but it shows that kyouka thinks differently because of the way she has been trained in the mafia. She didnt seem like she knew just how wrong that offer was. Just think about what they could have taught her and just how badly that could impact an impressionable teen :(
And Koyou? She hasn't been a good role model for young Kyouka at all, probably messing her perception of feelings and companionship even more. Koyou would tell her how she'd always be a murderer and always like in the darkness, wanting to stop her in the mafia. She was trying to keep Kyouka on her own level, not letting her heal and experience a better reality.
So yeah. Was this executed well? Kinda? I guess? But I dont think this plot point was necessary, at least not from this standpoint before we get chap130. I just dont know how that was necessary, we could have explored this a little more but we wont, since atsushi is in London all of a sudden.
When my posts flop i just tell myseld only super extremly ultra niche people understand them and thats why
Atsushi finally coming to terms with the fact the director of his orphanage is in the past. He plagued his childhood, reappeared in the form of flashbacks that terrified Atsu in his adult years. Now? Hes dead, with our main character accepting that the memories were his minds own doing and hes in charge of them, letting him shape them however he wants. In the past, the image of the director was brought up almost as a warning for atsushi to stay cautious, then we witnessed Atsushi learning to use it as a motivation (the chapter where they pushed a gate open, getting to Ueda), and recently ehat i believe was just wanting to feel peace. (the panel with kid Atsushi and the director on a picknick)
Now hes just a memory. Hes dead for good, and combined with the character development Atsushi had gotten these last chapters I dont think we'll be seeing his abuser in the future.
