This has happened to me before when I was in college at a frat party. This girl comes squeezing herself in between me and my friend and throws her arms around me. “Amanda, I am so glad you decided to come!” I was so confused and just figured she was drunk and mistaked me for someone else, until I saw the panic on her face. She leaned close and whispered that a guy was following her, was certain that he had put something in her drink and if I would please play along. I looked behind her and sure enough, some creep was watching her like a hawk. We invited her to hang out with us the rest of the night and even waited until her ride showed up just to make sure she was safe. Always look out for each other!

And if you’re a guy and you notice some creep is following or stalking a girl, and that she’s obviously uncomfortable or panicked, go ahead and say hi, long time no see, pretend to be her cousin, and tell her discretly you noticed there was a shady guy. Ask her if something’s wrong, if she feels unsafe, if she wants your help (very important - she may not trust you enough, no one could blame her, don’t take it personally). Alright, assholes.

I don’t usually defend Tony Stark. But this “Something went wrong” bullshit really rubbed me the wrong way. Wanna know why? Because the “Something that went wrong” was Howard Stark. The man that Tony idolised, and the man that abused him. And don’t give me that crap that in the MCU universe, Howard didn’t neglect or hurt Tony — he did. It’s very evident in the tie-in MCU comics.

But in both universes, Tony was raised by Edwin Jarvis. In 616, he has a father — Howard — who is constantly aggravated with his son, both as a result of his own drinking and because of what he feels Tony should be.

While Jarvis might be sensitive, thoughtful, intelligent and occupy roles that aren’t traditionally occupied considered “masculine” (which is bullshit in itself) if Tony ever displays anything remotely indicative of  a “softer side” he is ridiculed, called a sissy, told that Stark men are “made of Iron” and abused by his father: 

In the MCU, things aren’t depicted of being much better: 

And in the MCU Jarvis, often, tried to soften the blow of Howard’s words an actions. But don’t think for a second that Tony didn’t internalise all of that. That he didn’t think that Howard Stark was the man he was supposed to be, and the man he wanted to be most like. 

Of course, generally speaking — when Tony is the most like Howard — like at the Stark Expo, or during the senate hearings — it’s almost 100% preformative. That’s not who he is, or who he ever was, it’s who he thinks people want him to be, because it’s who his father wanted him to be.

I would go so far as to say that a lot of Tony’s womanizing ways, his alcoholism, his struggles with self-identity and importance all stem from the fact that he is often torn between being the man that he assumed his father wanted to be, and who he actually is.  

If you look at Tony when he’s alone, or when he’s with the people he cares about the most, what you see is the caring, compassionate person who Jarvis raised, and that he is a lot more capable and a lot more loving than his father ever was. And it took him a long time to be okay with that, and with showing other people that that was who he really was

So yes… Just a reminder, Jarvis helped raised this man:

  Don’t confuse the armour….

Best part of this is the gifs that they showed for the ultimate take down. “The armor” was shown as Tony, giving a speech in front of people. “And the man who wears it.” That was Tony in his armor, but not, showing who he really is. @itsallavengers I think you’re gonna wanna see this.

Really? People just love to hate Tony - why? Here’s the thing - Tony doesn’t have to step in the suit. He doesn’t have to sacrifice his life. Tony really doesn’t have to take all the BS that gets shoved at him by the press, so called teammates or average Joe. Tony could have done like other billionaires and said oh well, not my problem. Why should I care? But Tony does care. Yeah, he screws up from time to time. That makes him human. Guess who else screws up from time to time - everyone else in the Avengers.

- CLINT ORIGINALLY SIDED WITH CAP AND LEFT HIS FAMILY TO FIGHT, THEN BLAMED TONY FOR IT

- STEVE ROGERS LIED TO TRY AND  GET INTO THE ARMY, MULTIPLE TIMES (WHICH IS A CRIME)

- HE TOLD TONY “I’VE SEEN THE FOOTAGE, ALL YOU EVER CARE ABOUT IS YOURSELF”. WHEN HE HAD ONCE BEEN A GUY WHO WAS DESPERATE FOR PEOPLE TO GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO PROVE WHAT KIND OF GOOD HE COULD BRING TO THE WORLD. BUT HEY, FOOTAGE IS ALL THE PROOF YOU NEED! The fact that Loki killed a man he didn’t know, but was vital to the team? The fact that Steve is treating the loss as if it’s just another casualty in a war? How he’s so fucked up that he’s not seeing any emotions, or at least dealing with them? How Tony Stark is the one treating Coulson as a fucking person, a real human being, and not just an agent? How fucking broken he looks in this frame? Because Coulson was an agent, a colleague, but most importantly a friend, at least in some aspect? How fUCKING heartless Steve looks here? And the fact that Steve saying this puts more fire in Tony’s belly than anything else in this entire movie??

Tony fucking Stark has more heart than anyone else and I won’t stand for it otherwise.

Tony has always defended himself through evasive manoeuvres, and never used shields. Yet in Infinity War, he is using shields left and right. (The only time he shielded himself was in Iron Man 1, when he opened flaps in his gauntlet, and that was because he down low on power and couldn’t fly away.)

Tony realised that the team has lost a “shield”, so he took it upon himself to become one. He built a shield that could withstand the power of an Infinity Stone. Because he always knew the fight was coming, a bigger threat is on the horizon and he needed to be ready.

Meanwhile, Tony designed new shield for Cap (despite all the Civil War mess), new “magic” belt for Thor (despite not knowing whether Thor will return), ensured Hulkbuster was accessible to Bruce (despite Bruce being MIA) and built space-travel-safe spider-themed nano-suits for Peter (despite Peter not being an avenger yet).
