âI wish I knew the answer to that.â
do you think you'll ever live up to the level your siblings are at?
âI know for a fact that I never will. They will always be better than me.â
is there something i should know? (from ry because I couldn't pick just one)
âNo...you lost the right to know anything when you moved away from me.â The bitterness clear in her voice as she spoke.
@ryleighlincolnnpp
iâm not leaving you here. (from ry)
âIâm fine, Iâm not that drunk. You donât need to protect me Ryleigh, I can look after myself. Iâm going to have a few more shots and then Iâll go home.â

âIâm glad you close up for your older brother.â He said with a smile. He gave her a hug and kissed her cheek. âI did.â He said. âNow catch me up on your life. Any new boys?â He asked. âOr do you not want to tell me that because youâre worried Iâll shake them down. Well, the car that Jo and I egged when that boy was mean to you was worth it.â
Harriet couldnât help but roll her eyes as her brother asked whether there were any new boys in her life. âNo. No new boys. Nothing serious anyway really. Maybe a drunk or high hook up here and there but you donât need to know that. I donât need you to protect me anymore, Link. I grew a back bone.â She nudged his arm slightly, she loved having him protect her and she loved that he wanted to. âHow about you? Whatâs going on with you?â

He noticed she dropped her last name, but women did that sometimes for a variety of reasons. It never bothered AJ.  âAJ,â he told her, keeping with the theme. Maybe she was a woman who liked mystery. He didnât care. She was beautiful.  âCan I help you find a specific room?â he offered.
âNice to meet you AJ, pleasure is all mine.â She smirked and shook her head as he asked her if she needed help. âIâm actually on my lunch break, I work down at the coffee cart.â She bit her lip a little and smirked again. âThere may be a room you can help me find...an on call room perhaps.â Sheâd heard plenty about what the doctors got up in them.
itâs like weâve become strangers.
âIf you texted me once in a blue moon then you wouldnât think that. I know we have never been that close, because of our ages but I will always want to spend time with you.â

AJ glanced up from his phone when he heard someone speaking, and she was complimenting his appearance so clearly he was the only person the woman could be talking too. He quickly looked her up and down before extending his hand.  âWell the pleasure is mineâŚ.?â he trailed off, hoping she would say her name.Â
Harriet shook his hand with a smile letting her hand linger a moment longer than she probably should have. âHarriet.â She left out her surname because for once she didnât want to be Link or Ryleighâs sister. She was just Harriet for now. âAnd you are?â She raised an eyebrow and gave another smile.
have u met ur bio family
No. Iâm happy with the family that I have, I donât need to complicate that.

âNice to see not everything changes. Interns are still idiots,â AJ mumbled as he plopped down into the chair at the nurses station. He grabbed a chart and pulled a pen out. It had already been a long morning, and he had another few hours to go before he could even think about taking a lunch break.  âRemind me again why I came back to this?â
@traumasstartâ
Harriet was having a wander around the hospital on her lunch break and had decided to stop at the nurses station to send a few texts arranging another night out with her friends when she heard a voice beside her. She looked at the man who had spoken and couldnât help but let her mouth drop a little bit, he was gorgeous. âI donât know who you are, or where youâve been but Iâm certainly glad youâre back...wow. If only everyone around here was that good to look at.â

âIâll have a large caramel iced coffee and a side of extra ice and then a side of H2).â He ordered in a funny voice to try to disguise himself. He had on sunglasses. âHurry it up.â He said to his sister. He took off his glasses. âNah, Iâm fucking with you, itâs me.â He have her a smile. âSo, youâre not going to greet your favorite brother or what? Câmon take a lunch break, Iâll buy you lunch.âÂ
Harriet knew immediately that it was her brother behind the sunglasses but decided to humour him because it seemed as though he really thought he was hilarious. She rolled her eyes as he spoke, âIâm not like you, I canât just decide when I want to take my lunch break, but for you Iâll close up for an hour.â She took off her apron and walked around to where her brother was, she wrapped her arms around his waist. âMiss me?â

Savannah didnât run in stilettos for just anybody, but she actually liked this intern so when Harriet passed her holding black coffee and walking towards Johnâs office, she was instantly running after her. âHarriet- Harriet⌠Harriet! Stop!â she called out, catching up to her finally and taking the hot coffee from the intern. âJohnâs coffee, right? He says he wants black but to him black coffee is actually black coffee with two dashes of vanilla in it,â she said, letting out a breath sheâd been holding in. âBring him that in the mood heâs in today and he would have hated it, and you would have never heard the end of it.â she explained, taking the cup to her desk and grabbing the vanilla flavoring that she kept handy in one of her drawers, to fix the coffee before it was sent through to Johnâs office. âSee that? They donât teach in law school.âÂ
Harriet was interning for John Davenport for a little bit of experience in law, this would probably be how she decided if law was what she really wanted to do with her. She grabbed John his black coffee and headed to give it to him. She heard someone running up behind and then heard her name. âCrap, oh thank you...So he was tricking me to get me into his bad books?â She couldnât help but roll her eyes a little, he was certainly one of the most high maintenance men she had ever met. âYou just seem to know him inside out. Whatâs your secret?â

âSure, donât thank me for keeping tabs on your purse and making sure it wasnât stolen. I could have taken the cash and the weed but here I am trying to be a decent person.â Amelia grabbed her drink and began to move from the table and towards the bar. âYou sound like youâve had a rough day, donât take it out on innocent bystanders okay?â
âYou could have, but you donât seem to be quickest so Iâd have probably seen you and wouldâve had to kick your ass.â She rolled her eyes a little. âDealing with stupid people just wasnât on my to do list for today and I had to do it...all day.â She sighed and shot the other woman an apologetic look. âYouâre right, Iâm sorry.â

âUnless you have what I asked Savannah two hours ago on Marshall Biotech, donât even bother walking in. I have no time to hold your hand.â
Harriet had decided that interning with the lawyers at the hospital was a good idea to get some practice in but as John spoke she wasnât so sure. âI wouldnât have walked in here if I didnât have it. Iâm sure other interns have fallen at your feet, but thatâs not my style.â She raised an eyebrow. âAnd itâll be a hard pass on holding your hand.â

Levi studied the barista as she made coffee, and he waited for his turn to order. She looked so familiar, but he couldnât place her. Maybe she just had a familiar face. He stepped up to place his order a moment later, and passed her his card.  âAre you Ryleighâs sister?â he asked, noticing her name tag. Â
She smiled politely and nodded. âThe one and only.â She was always Atticus or Ryleighâs sister, she never seemed to be just Harriet and that bummed her out a little but she didnât let her smile falter. âAre you guys friends?â
