"You prefer me to stay dead?" He tilted his head. "But isn’t it better now that you can release the guilt that has no place in your mind to begin with?" Studying her, he clasped his hands behind his back. "What’s it to you?” He perked a brow. “There are things you should understand that would make this entire situation much more clear.
"Or much more confusing."
"Yes... no? Maybe? It would just be a hell of a lot easier if things did what they were supposed to do." She moved a hand to her head and shook it as though that would do her any good and actually clearing her thoughts that were clouded. "It was still my hand. Whether or not it was my soul doing the work makes no difference if you'd ask someone else." She blew air out of her nose, frustrated. "My past is what keeps me anchored. Reminds me how I got here. Where I went wrong." Cheyenne thought that it was going to just be another trick but when she saw it happen before her eyes she couldn't help but gasp. "You don't just take the form of a cat... you take on everything else as well."
