Two Months VII

Pairing: Prince!Ben Solo x Reader Warnings: Summary: Ben Solo has two months to marry before being put in an arranged marriage. In a fit of rage he runs away and stumbles into The Cantina Diner where he meets a beautiful waitress. A/N: I lied about these chapters being longer. The next one will be I swear.

It had been all over the news lately. Prince Benjamin was focusing on charity work. 

Prince Benjamin is uncle’s little helper as he volunteers his time at local orphanage.

Prince Benjamin organizes “Clean Naboo Day” -- a day to clean up the streets around local neighborhoods. 

Naboo Zoo gets an honorary keeper -- Prince Benjamin!

You had had enough of hearing about Ben. All you wanted to do was forget about him yet the media had decided to remind you of his existence everyday. 

Considering all the work he was doing outside of the palace it was a blessing you never ran into him. Although you supposed it would be difficult to run into the only crown prince of Naboo considering he had an entourage follow him wherever he went.

You were cleaning off the tables in the Cantina when the news came on.

“Prince Benjamin gets down and dirty--” said the announcer.

You turned your head and looked at the tv. This sounded more like the Prince.

“--teaching the elderly of Naboo how to dance!”

“Oh come on!” you shouted, making your way to the tv and shutting it off. 

Ben made his way down Ahch-To street, finding himself stopping at his uncle’s apartment. 

After a swift knock on the door there was some shuffling of feet. The door opened and there stood Luke, smiling at his nephew.

“Come in Ben! Leave the guards where they are. They know you’re safe here.”

Ben raised his hand, signaling to the guards that they were to stay where they are, and walked into the small apartment that his uncle called home.

“I’ll fix you a drink. Milk?”

“Luke you know I haven’t asked you for milk since I was seven.”

“I know I know. Sit down. Tell me how the volunteer work has been. The crossing guard was a good one if I do say so.”

“The volunteer stuff has been good but I feel like I made the wrong decision.”

“How so?” asked Luke, pouring himself a glass of milk and sitting across from his nephew. 

“I just don’t feel like I belong here. And I know we’ve spoken about this but I still feel like half of me is stuck in Varykino.”

"Although you are not happy with your current situation you are the only one who can make the most of it. I know you’ve been working hard at having a good image, but you still have other duties to attend to. Maybe instead of resisting them you can embrace them. Maybe being a prince isn’t all that bad.”

Ben sighed and rested his head in his hands. He knew Luke was right. As much as he hated it, one day he would be King of Naboo, he’d have to embrace it sooner or later. 

“You’re right.” said Ben, breaking the silence.

“I know.”

“I just don’t know where to start.”

“How about you start with your parents?”

Ben looked up. Trying to mend the gap he had wedged between him and his parents, especially his father, would be extremely difficult and painful. 

“Okay. I’ll do it.”

Things were pretty quiet at the Cantina recently. Sure you still had your returning customers, but things felt different. Everyone knew that the mood around the place had changed, yet you were the only one who didn’t wanna admit to it.

You thought about Ben everyday, even if you didn’t want to. You tried cheering yourself up by saying he was just that pretentious asshole that you heard about in the news, but his recent habit of volunteer work had changed your mind slightly.

“He’s still not fit to be King.” you thought.

“Y/N if you frown any harder you bottom lip is gonna be on the floor.” said Maz as you were cleaning up a table. 

It was the midday quiet hour, as you called it, and everyone was just lazing around. 

“You need to get over him.” said Rey, rearranging the straws for the fourth time now.

“I am over him.” you snapped.

“Oh honey.” said Poe, walking over to you and draping his arm around you. “You perk up every time you hear his name on the news.”

“We should all hang out tonight. It’s Friday. Y/N needs a distraction and the rest of us need to relax. Pizza and a movie at ours?” asked Poe. 

Eventually you mumbled something that resembled a ‘yes’.

“We just want our girl back Y/N.” said Poe, hugging you tightly.

Mini Hiatus

Hey guys. I’m really busy right now as I’m a high school senior and currently trying to figure out what I’m doing with the next four years of my life. I’ll be posting the next chapter of Two Months tomorrow but then I’ll be on a few weeks of hiatus so I can focus on college stuff. Hope y’all understand.

Two Months VI

Pairing: Prince!Ben Solo x Reader Warnings: cursing and ANGST Summary: Ben Solo has two months to marry before being put in an arranged marriage. In a fit of rage he runs away and stumbles into The Cantina Diner where he meets a beautiful waitress.  A/N: Thank you to @floral-and-fine for helping me with this chapter. Also another short chapter. The chapters should start to get longer after this.

“Your highness? What?” you thought.

Ben’s eyes turned dark.

“We have been looking everywhere for you Prince Benjamin.” started Hux. “I am glad that you are safe, although I must say this establishment is not becoming for the future king of Naboo.”

“That is enough Hux.” said Ben, his voice growing loud and stern.

Suddenly everything clicked for you.

“WHAT.” you shouted. 

Ben instantly turned to you, taking both your hands in his. 

“Y/N can we talk somewhere private?”

You pulled your hands away from him.

“We have nothing to talk about.” you spat. “You lied to me. I never want to see you again. Besides, you clearly have better things to do.” Walking away you added one more thing. “Don’t worry about the check, royals don’t have to pay.”

You immediately walked into Maz’s office so Ben couldn’t see your tears. 

“Hux. You are dismissed.” said Ben, standing up.

“I am sorry Prince Benjamin, but I had direct orders from your parents that once I find you I am not to leave your side. Come. We have a palace to get back to.”

Hux pulled out his phone and dialed a number, telling the person on the other end the address of the Cantina. Less than ten minutes later four guards dressed in red walked into the Cantina. 

“Your highness, Mr. Hux. The limo is outside.”

Ben grumbled some sort of thank you and stood up. Before leaving he turned towards the workers of the Cantina, well those who weren’t crying their eyes out in Maz’s office. 

“Thank you all for your hospitality.” he said giving a short bow and exiting the diner. 

The two men sat down in the limo and Ben could feel his heart sink. It hadn’t even been an hour and he was missing you. Nobody had treated him like you had, in your eyes he was just a normal person, not a prince and future king. Just Ben. That’s all he had ever wanted. 

Ben sighed heavily and stared out the window.

Hux looked to his right at the somber man sitting next to him. To say Hux wasn’t expecting this type of reaction was an understatement. This type of response was extremely out of character for the young prince. Hux was expecting to fight and argue with Prince Benjamin the entire ride back to the palace. Instead he was met with soft sighs and an unbelievably quiet man.

“Your parents will be glad to see you.” said Hux, breaking the silence.

“Will you just shut the fuck up for once?” exploded Ben, turning violently towards Hux. “You consistently ruin my life. I was in love and you took it from me!”

“I am sorry your highness, I was just addressing you with proper form.” said Hux, a small smirk coming to his face.

“Fuck proper form.”

“You know you couldn’t stay here forever.”

“I know that Hux. I was dealing with it until you showed up. I told her I had to leave. I know what’s best for the kingdom.” replied Ben, turning back towards the window and staying silent for the rest of the ride.

You were sitting in Maz’s chair sniffling to yourself when a knock at the door interrupted you.

“He’s gone.” came Rey’s voice.

“Good.” you responded, standing up and opening the door.

As much as you wanted to appear strong and totally unharmed, your friends and employer were met with tear stained cheeks and a running nose.

“Oh Y/N.” said Rey, pulling you into a hug. “I’m so sorry.” she said, stroking your hair.

“I can’t believe Leia let him have my old job.” said Maz, causing everyone to look at her.  

“Oh don’t tell me you’re a secret royal too.” said Finn, changing the sign on the door to closed. 

“No. I was the consort to Queen Leia when I was younger. I knew of Ben’s origins.”

“Maz-” you started.

“He wanted to feel normal Y/N. You gave him that. He is thankful and I know that he did what was best for the kingdom. Do not be angry at Ben for something that Hux screwed up.” 

“He stilled lied to me Maz. I cannot forgive him for that.”

Eventually the limo came to a stop. With one final heavy sigh Ben exited the limo only to be greeted by his smiling parents. Walking over to his mother he expected a hug or some sort of “we were so worried”. Instead he was greeted with a smack to the head.

“Stupid.” said his mother. “Glad you’re back though.”

Ben only grunted. Ignoring his father he kept walking. 

“You’re uncle is here.” said his father, causing Ben to stop in his tracks. 

When Ben started walking again he had a sense of determination. 

Eventually Ben ended up at the door of the guest bedroom that was reserved for when his uncle visited the palace.

Knocking softly on the door Ben waited until the door opened. In front of him stood the man he had confided in for years.

Luke smiled at the sight of his nephew. 

“Come Ben. Tell me about your travels.”

Slumping down in one of the chairs in Luke’s room Ben put his head in his hands.

“Why can’t I be just a normal guy?”

“Ben you know you can’t. You have responsibilities.” 

“Everyone keeps saying that. You had responsibilities but here you are.”

“It was different with me. I’m still benefiting the image of the royal family by teaching those orphans. Besides, I was the younger sibling so I wasn’t even going to be king.”

“You and my mom are twins!”

“She’s older by five minutes.” said Luke, smiling and sitting in a chair in front of Ben. “I know you’ve always had these thoughts Ben, but something about this trip has made them stronger. Am I correct?”

“I fell in love.”

“Oh Ben.”

“She’s the most perfect girl in the world and I lied to her.”

Luke sighed heavily, knowing the pain his nephew was in. 

“You made the right choice Ben.”

“Hux still fucked it up for me.”

“Of course he did. I was never a fan of the ginger dick.”

Ben snorted. If there was one person in the world who truly understood him it was Luke. 

After catching Luke up to everything that happened with Ben and you there was silence.

“So you truly care about this girl?”

“She’s wonderful. She deserves someone better than me.” said Ben, looking at his feet.

“Then be the prince she deserves.”

Ben looked up at his uncle, brows furrowed.

“Come help me at the orphanage. It’ll improve your image, get your mind off of Y/N and make you feel more secure in the fact that you are a good person.”

Ben thought for a moment. Maybe this would help.

“I’ll do it.”

Phoenix Rising II

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader Warnings: none Summary: Post Civil War and Bucky can see color, meaning he’s seen his soulmate, yet he doesn’t remember anything. A/N: This is really OOC cause it pretty much has Bucky’s time in Wakanda not existing and just has him going back to Stark Tower. Whoops.

Part I

You had been injured pretty severely in the last battle the Avengers had let you be a part of. Luckily you would heal and it was only your eyes, not a leg or an arm. 

You had been blinded before so healing wouldn’t be that difficult, it would just take a long time. This was the main reason you weren’t allowed to intervene in the fight between Steve and Tony, also because you seemed to be the only person who was against the two fighting at all. 

At this point in your healing your vision was blurry, but you could see. It was as if you needed extremely strong prescription glasses. Tony decided that since you would be “blind” for a while, a seeing eye dog was in order. As much as you kept telling him that it wasn’t needed, he just used it as an excuse for the team to have a dog.

Eventually you gave in as the dog would probably help ease tension between everyone. You also gave Tony the condition that Steve could name the dog. That’s how you ended up with a Shetland sheepdog named Eleanor. 

It had been about a month since the fight and things were still cooling down between everyone. Some of the team had decided to move other places for a while. As much as it broke your heart since he was one of your closest friends, Steve decided to move into an apartment with Bucky. 

You didn’t really know Bucky. You knew about his past and that he was reformed, but you had never met him. 

Today though, that would change. Steve and Bucky were moving back into Stark Tower.

Eleanor could tell that something big was happening today as she kept jumping on the couches and running back and forth. You vision wasn’t great, but you could tell that she was excited. 

To say Bucky was nervous about moving back into Stark Tower was an understatement. He knew that he and Tony were starting to get back on the right foot, yet there was still some anxiety. Plus he would have to meet Phoenix, the member of the team he had always seemed to miss.

Bucky hated meeting new people. He was most comfortable with Steve. 

“You know you’ll finally get to meet Eleanor as well.” said Steve, zipping up his suitcase.

“Another new member?”

Steve laughed.

“No no, Eleanor is Y/N’s, Phoenix, seeing eye dog. Although everyone knows it was just Tony’s plan for the team to get a dog in the house.” 

Bucky smiled. He did love dogs.

“Let me guess, you came up with the name?”

“What? Eleanor Rosevelt was an extremely influential and amazing woman.”

You were watching, well attempting to watch, an episode of Friends when you felt Eleanor move from sitting next to you. Then came the barking. As much as you loved the dog, you hated the barking. Why did Tony have to design the Tower with materials that enhanced echoes?

“Eleanor come sit!” you shouted.

Eleanor just ran over to the door and wagged her butt, barking nonstop. 

You sighed and stood up, fumbling your way to the dog. Before you could get your hand on her collar the door opened.

You saw a tall blurry figure holding a suitcase. As you squinted you noticed the blond mop of hair.

“Steve!” you shouted, jumping on the man.

“Y/N!”

“I missed you so much! So did Eleanor. I swear almost every night I would find her curled up on your bed asleep.”

When Steve put you down he dropped his suitcase and bent down to greet the dog.

“Hiya girl? Have you been good while I’ve been gone?”

In the most Steve-like manner he put on a high pitched voice, the one he used for when Eleanor was “speaking”. 

“I’ve been the best girl! Y/N hasn’t been giving me any treats though.”

You shook your head at the man cradling the dog. 

A cough came from the door. All you could see was another large human with long(?) brown hair.

“Oh hi. You must be Bucky. I’ve heard all about you. Good things, all good things.” you said, extending your arm towards the man. 

Bucky tentatively grabbed your hand and shook it gently. It was almost as if an electric shock was sent through both your arms.

The two of you pulled back.

“Well I’ll leave you two to get settled. If you need anything let me know.” you said, moving back to the couch.

Later that night after Bucky had finished unpacking, there came a knock at his bedroom door.

“It’s just me.” came Steve’s voice.

The door opened and in walked Steve.

“You okay buddy?” he asked.

“Yeah why?”

“I know you’re bad at meeting new people, but you’re not normally that bad.” said Steve, sitting on the edge of Bucky’s bed.

“I don’t know man.” said Bucky, running his hand through his hair.

“You usually don’t freeze up like that.”

“She’s... different. Something about her.”

“Y/N is pretty special.”

“She wasn’t really looking at me when we met.”

“Oh yeah. She got blinded in the last fight she was in. She’ll heal though, regenerative properties and all that.”

Bucky nodded. Something about you was familiar.
