Train Dreams (2025) dir. Clint Bentley
Train Dreams (Clint Bentley, 2025)
How would you explain the relationship Ash has with Sebastian (and Sebastian’s memory)? May we also get a lil something something abt Ashdru? I can’t wait to see them in tlkof 🫶
I'd say it was very complicated. What Ash thinks of Sebastian in Thule and the Sebastian that died in our world are two totally different things; he believes it was possible that the Sebastian who died in our world might have actually cared about him if he'd survived. He knows Thule Sebastian didn't. Dru of course hates the real world Sebastian and everything about him but she restrains herself from saying so right off the bat.
It's hard. It's REALLY HARD.

Heidi Klum needs to double whatever she paid her makeup artist for this because HOLY SHIT, IT'S WORTH IT.

Train Dreams is an absolutely beautiful movie in every possible way. It has been ages since I've had a film resonate with me like this one did -- probably because I haven't felt so personally connected to a character as I was when watching the man that Joel Edgerton plays. I highly recommend you go watch it on Netflix when you have a chance.
Train Dreams (2025) "...But on that spring day, as he misplaced all sense of up and down, he felt, at last, connected to it all."
Train Dreams (2025)
There were once passageways to the old world, strange trails, hidden paths. You'd turn a corner and suddenly find yourself face-to-face with the great mystery, the foundation of all things. And even though that old world is gone now, even though it's been rolled up like a scroll and put somewhere, you can still feel the echo of it.
