a/n: hi anon, ik this is really short but i didn’t really know how to make it much longer BUT if you guys like it, i might make a longer part 2 ;) i hope you enjoy!!

Hermione had been in the library all day studying for a particularly tricky potions exam that was coming up. She hadn’t realized how long she’d been gone until Fred came strolling into the library for his daily bothering of Madam Pince that he would always do at 4pm on the dot.

But rather than head over to snooty librarian, Fred noticed a familiar head of frizzy hair practically stuffed inside of a book and decided to sit across from her.

Hermione knew that if she paid him any attention, she would immediately become distracted. She was one of those people that would constantly pride herself on being able to focus through the worst conditions. I suppose that’s what you have to do when Harry Potter and Ron Weasley are your best friends. But what she would never admit is that Fred Weasley was able to easily divert her attention from her studies to him. Something about his charm, or maybe the way he laughed, or that stupid shit eating grin he flashed at her caused her to become extremely flustered and very distracted.

He started trying to talk to her, that shit eating grin i mentioned earlier resting on his lips, but she took no notice. At first it was a breeze to block him out. But the more he kept talking, the more Hermione struggled to deny him of the attention he was so desperately trying to gain.

“Are you ignoring me, Granger?” She suddenly heard, clear as day, as if she was meant to hear that phrase. Instead of answering she just shoved her face further into her notes. Fred laughed and though for a moment before saying,

“You must be the reason for global warming because you’re hot.”

Hermione’s ears perked up at the phrase ‘global warming’ since it was a muggle concept and it seemed to catch her slightly off guard that Fred even knew what global warming was. He had definitely looked into muggle pick up lines to appeal to her which she thought was incredibly sweet, but also so incredibly typical for Fred Weasley.  

Instead of feeding into his little ploy to get her to stop studying, she responded with, “Actually, it’s primarily because of too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. I can give you a book to read on global warming, if you’d like, and maybe we can discuss the changes we have to make to prevent global warming and be more sustainable. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go talk to Harry-“ Fred’s mouth hung open in disbelief, this is certainly not the response he was expecting from Hermione- “Close your mouth, don’t want to swallow flies, now, do we?” Hermione added, feeling particularly ferocious after that sassy comment she had made towards him. 

She couldn’t help but giddily grin at herself as she strutted out of the library, and as Fred watched her, all he could think was “This is the girl I’m going to marry”

if i were a student at hogwarts

house: hufflepuff

look we will NEVER know what houses each of the losers are in, but you know what, i’m gonna give what house i think they would all be sorted into. 

bearing in mind, hogwarts houses take into account what you value most, not what you are most like. 

i think beverly would be a slytherin. though she is extremely brave, she was so driven the entire first movie, expressing her desire to “move towards something.” she also gave me the cheeky rulebreaker vibe, and you are LYING if you say she isn’t cunning.

ben would be a ravenclaw. i’ve seen him most commonly placed either here or in hufflepuff, but based on the fact that he is very invested in derry’s history ad also (as dumb as it seems) new kids on the block, he is very knowledgeable about these subjects and has the desire to learn. 

now mike was one of the hardest to place, since i can see him in gryffindor, ravenclaw or hufflepuff. but i ultimately decided he would be a good fit for hufflepuff, just because he is so kind hearted and also a complete soft boy at heart. 

bill is 100% gryffindor, no doubt about it. i mean cmon, he’s a natural born leader, and it was all his idea to go on crazy missions to save his little brother. he is extremely courageous and loves to be the hero that saves the day. 

now this is a bit of a weird one, but i believe eddie could be put into slytherin. think about it, he is constantly disobeying his mom's wishes to an extent, he is an extremely ambitious kid, and the iconic “gazebos” scene where he stood up to his mom felt so natural. it was between that or ravenclaw, but i just thought he fit slytherin a bit better. 

however, stanley is definitely a ravenclaw. he is extremely knowledgable about birds, and wyatt even stated that stan was canonically in a higher math class than richie, bill and eddie. he was also the smartest loser in the second movie (but I won’t dive into that because I don’t want to put any spoilers out there.)

and last, but certainly not least, richie. everyone always seems to put him in slytherin because of his behavior. however his main goal as a loser seems to be to make everyone around him laugh, which is arguably a hufflepuff trait. i know it’s a strange choice, but if you really think about it, it makes sense, since he cares so much about his friends, and just wants to make them laugh.

honestly it was so hard to place them, since their characters differ in the books, to their movie counterparts, and even the 2 movie series are completely different. i mostly went with their characteristics in the 2017/2019 characters, but with richie i used some inspiration from both the seth green and finn wolfhard portrayals. sorry if you disagree, but i tried to be as logical and as unbiased as humanly possible.
