"Your words mean nothing to me. You can't control me. I will come as close as I please, you can't stop me."
As if a yandere was not enough, when you chose to ignore the original male lead, another second male lead suddenly entered your life, further complicating the situation.

CHAPTER 15: DAMSEL IN DISTRESS
The town laid in silence beneath a sky scattered with stars where each house wrapped in darkness. Windows were shut tight, curtains drawn like sleeping eyes. Even the night breeze held its breath, no rustling leaves, no distant chirping crickets, only stillness.
It was the kind of night that promised peace. Yet while the rest of the town slept undisturbed, your house was anything but quiet, and none of it was by your choosing. Your leg was bleeding, crimson staining the white fabric of your nightdress. But even that was not the worst part.
The worst part was Cyrus was with you...
He should not be here. He had no right to enter, yet he did anyway as if doors, boundaries, and permission had never applied to him. Just like always. Just like intelligence could not penetrate his stupidity.
Now he stood over you like some entitled king who believed the world belonged to him. Who believed you belonged to him. He never seemed to understand when to leave someone alone. His very presence poisoned the air in your room, seeping into every corner like smoke from a fire you could never escape.
'How I'm dying to pull his hair, slap this idiot face, punch his stomach and kick him where it hurts!'
You frowned your forehead in distress. It was because of the ring that you could not do any of it. Instead, you could only initiated passive action. Your palms was pressed against his chest, trying to keep him from closing the distance between you. It was a futile effort. Cyrus had never cared about personal space, respect, or anything remotely human.
"Enough, Cyrus." You glared at him through gritted teeth. "The moment this ring comes off, I'll make sure you pay for everything you've done. I will break that sword you treasure so much."
Being himself, Cyrus didn't take the threat seriously. Instead, he simply covered the hand resting against his chest with his own, lazily stroking your fingers. His other arm braced itself against the back of the sofa, caging you beneath him.
You were already lying on the sofa, left with nothing but the desperate hope that your silver knight would come and save you. For Adrian to save you like he always did. Like how he saved you back during your academy.
You did not dare push Cyrus away. The last time you resisted, the ring had forced your body to betray you, to touch him gently, to pull him closer instead.
You would never let that happen.
Cyrus watched every flicker of emotion on your face. It did not take a genius to figure out what you were thinking. You were waiting for Adrian. You always did without fail and that irked him greatly.
A faint smile curled on his lips.
"Well, you see..." he murmured, his breath hitting your face due to his closeness. "That ring isn't coming off. Ever. So there's no need to be afraid, my darling."
His thumb idly traced the back of your hand, the ring on your finger in particular before brought it up and kissed it, remaining his lips for a while on the ring and your delicate skin but his eyes still harboured warning.
"Adrian will never be with you." His smile widened, almost tender in its cruelty. "But you'll always have me." He tilted his head as he feed on his darling reaction.
"That's a fair trade, isn't it?"
"In your dreams, Cyrus." A quiet chuckle escaped him with your feisty response that his inner self had grown tired off.
"But this isn't a dream."
Cyrus lips was holding onto his smile. Slow, possessive, and utterly satisfied, feeling that you were already his. Without warning, he reached out and gently cupped your face in his hand. The moment his skin touched yours… the ring pulsed. He knew it would and that was the main reason he did it.
A faint golden glow flickered around the band on your finger before shimmering between the two of you, almost invisible in the darkness. The magic hummed to life, quiet yet impossible to ignore.
Then it came. That horrible pull. It began as a faint tug deep within your chest before crashing over you like a relentless wave. Every muscle in your body tensed, not because you welcomed his touch, but because the ring had awakened.
The spell was taking hold. You gritted your teeth, desperately clinging to the last fragments of your own will because you knew if you gave up, something regretful would bound to happen. You could feel your hands unwillingly moved upwards, from Cyrus chest to his face and pulled him closer.
'No...Just stop it, stupid ring! Stupid owner of the ring!'
However, Adrian would never allow any harm to come to you. He heard a loud sound of like glass shattering from your house and decided to take a look at your house in case any harms were coming your way.
When he found your front door unlocked, a sense of unease settled in his chest. The sound of something shattering earlier still echoed in his mind. Maybe you had fallen. Maybe you were hurt. Maybe you had collapsed before you could even call for help.
Whatever the reasons, he could not ignore it. He silently promised himself he would beg for your forgiveness later for entering your house without permission.
With that thought, he eased the door open, so gently that the hinges barely made a sound as he still felt guilty to enter a lady's house without permission. It was the kind of careful entrance someone made when trying not to wake a sleeping person or when afraid of disturbing something fragile.
But even Adrian's gentleness had its limits.
The moment he stepped inside, every unanswered question about the crashing noise was answered. He saw a man loomed over you, his hand cradling your face as though he had every right to touch you. Blood stained your white nightdress at around your legs area.
For a heartbeat, Adrian's mind went blank. He could not recognised the man by only his back yet. All he saw was a stranger pinning you beneath him and the blood on your dress indicating this man was harming you.
Every sweet instinct in Adrian died as his eyes darken with rage. Without a second thought, he seized the man by his collar and yanked him away from you, sending him stumbling across the room. A reminder that his strength did match a knight as that was the department he was from during the academy.
The moment the suffocating weight disappeared, relief washed over you. Adrian. He came. He would never disappointed you. That was your man!
'Thank God he heard the noise. I knew I could count on my knight in shining armor.'
Adrian stepped forward, his fist already drawn back, ready to drive straight into the man's face. As he lifted the groaning man with his collar, then he saw him. His fist froze in midair with shocked.
However, Adrian did not prioritise the reunion as the terror on your face still attached inside his mind. The blood staining your nightdress. The way Cyrus had been cradling your face, looming over you as though he owned you. Nothing about the scene was normal. There was no room for questions. That could happen long after.
Without another word, Adrian grabbed Cyrus by the collar, dragged him out of the house, and threw him onto the front porch. Before Cyrus could step back inside, Adrian slammed the door shut and locked it.
"Y/N..." His voice softened, the anger melting into worry. "What happened?"
The moment you saw your savior, the last thread holding you together snapped. Tears streamed down your face, yet not a single sob escaped your lips. It was just like the first day he had found you at the academy.
Seeing you like that, Adrian instinctively reached out, intending to pull you into a comforting embrace. The moment his thumb brushed away the tears on your cheek, the ring flared to life. Your body froze.
Before you could stop yourself, before you could warn Adrian, the magic seized control. Your arms shot forward, shoving Adrian away with all the strength the spell forced upon you.
Caught completely off guard, he stumbled backward and crashed onto the floor. His hand came down on the shattered glass scattered across the room.
A sharp gasp escaped his lips as jagged shards sliced into his palm. Blood welled from the fresh cuts, but he barely seemed to notice. His eyes never left you. There was no anger in them, only confusion and concern.
"Wait... no. It can't be..." Your eyes widened in horror.
"Adrian, I'm so sorry. This cursed ring... Cyrus!"
Ignoring the pain shooting through your injured leg, you hurried toward Adrian. Yet just before reaching him, you forced yourself to stop. You did not dare touch him. One touch was all it took for you to throw him away and what if this time you throw him into the wall?
The ring had made its intentions painfully clear. It would not let you show Adrian even the smallest gesture of affection. Instead, it twisted those feelings and redirected them toward Cyrus.
'What kind of ridiculous drama is this! Just let me help Adrian ahhhhh'
Instead of being mad, Adrian slowly pushed himself to his feet, wincing as blood dripped from his injured palm. His eyes fell to your injured leg, his expression tightening with worry.
"Y/N, you're bleeding. Don't move. I'll come to you."
Your heart clenched. Even after you had pushed him away... even after he had gotten hurt because of you... the first thing he cared about was whether you were okay.
"Adrian..." Your voice was barely above a whisper but you showed a sign for him to stop coming to you.
"Thank you for coming." You lowered your gaze, blinking away the tears threatening to fall again.
'Who would not be crying after injuring the man you love!'
"I'm... truly grateful. But let me take care of this"
Ignoring the sharp pain shooting through your injured leg, you limped toward the cabinet where you kept the first-aid kit. Every step left a faint trail of blood across the wooden floor, but you refused to stop.
When you returned, you placed the kit on the sofa and gestured for Adrian to sit. You deliberately chose the opposite end, leaving enough distance so your hands would never brush against each other by accident.
The distance between you was barely an arm's length. Yet it feel so impossibly far. If you could, you would take this opportunity to wail in his arms and complained about all irritating the things Cyrus had done to you. How he claimed Adrian's right on your ring finger.
"Take care of your hand first," you said softly. "And... I'll do mine."
Instinctively, you shake your head.
"No. For now, there is no way."
The answer came too quickly. For a moment, Adrian looked surprised. You had never rejected his help before but he did not press the matters further instead he forfeit because he knew the reason would relate to your action in throwing him. It was a bit funny how opposite that could be with your usual actions.
"...I understand. Then let me at least guide you, Y/N."
Following his calm instructions, the two of you treated your own injuries in silence. Adrian carefully cleaned the cuts on his palm while guiding you through disinfecting and bandaging your leg from across the sofa. Only after both of you had finished tending to your wounds did you finally tell him the reason of your actions towards him.
Your eyes fell to the black ring around your finger, your expression darkening.
"It's cursed. It was formed with a black magic"
You explained everything. The way the ring controlled your actions, how it twisted your intentions, and how it refused to let you touch Adrian or him touching you. Throughout your explanation, Adrian remained silent. Too silent. When you finally finished, his gaze stayed on the ring.
"Y/N..." His voice was gentle, but there was a hint of confusion. He looked away briefly before continuing as if he felt wrong to let out his thoughts.
"Did I do something wrong? You said the ring won't allow you to touch me, but why only me..." His fingers tightened slightly around the bandage on his palm.
"Cyrus was able to touch you just fine before..."
'Oh Adrian! Why you look so cute with that dejected eyes!'
