if anybody cares about agency transfers or departures in the year of 2026 so far, this is the post for you, because there have been a lot already:

aoto watanabe (yanma from king-ohger, aka the loml), announced on january 31st that he left Stardust Promotion. after temporarily going freelance, he posted on june 1st that he is now under Lespros Entertainment, which is the same agency that taisei sakai (gira), rio uchida (kiriko from kr drive), and yuu inaba (gou from kr drive) are also under. naturally, big news for annoying redblue fans -- aka me.

related to the above, face card never declines, especially when you're under lespros

daisuke sambongi (fire candle from gozyuger) announced on june 1st that he officially left ATG Factory/style office as of may 31st. i presume that he'll be going the same route as yuzuki and aoto, where he'll temporarily go freelance until he finds a new agency, but time will tell.

saving the biggest for last, ichika osaki (asuna from ryusoulger) also announced on june 1st that she left Oscar Promotion after 14 years. oscar promotion immediately countered this with their own statement, claiming that she unilaterally informed them of her departure despite her contract still being in effect. additionally, they claim that there was no mutual agreement for the termination of her contract, floating the idea of legal action. osaki then countered with another instagram post with her explanation of events. to put it in somewhat concise terms, she claims that she was working with the agency to achieve a mutual agreement, but the discussions only kept delaying her departure despite the numerous concessions she made to the agency's demands. she states that she eventually left the agency on her own terms due to her trust being broken in them, after discovering that the agency may have committed actions that could be interpreted as "criminal offenses". she is currently working with an attorney, who has publicly supported her claims against the agency.

related to the above, osaki has opened a new personal x account after being locked out of her previous one. presumably, it was hacked, though no proper explanation has been given.

haru, where have you been?🥺 we missed you so much, also what do you think about Gavan infinity ep 15?

i'm so sorry! i've been busy with my irl job plus i've been preoccupied with so much other media on my main blog (shameless plug for @moonriase) so i haven't had as much brainspace to devote to this blog. that said, i'm still watching and thoroughly enjoying gavan infinity!

episode 14 was soooo good. first of all, ray fujita is perfection and i am looking respectfully. second of all, i knew that i can trust tomioka! imo, i think the the series isn't quite on the level of boonboomger yet, but i really hope that it can keep up with these kinds of episode. mikage's goals add such an interesting level of gray into the entire conflict and how it starts to really rattle reiji's core as a character. mikage needs to be stopped, but can stopping him really stop the entire conflict? he's done terrible things in the name of his own good, who's to say that there isn't some level of truth? these kinds of question really add to the depth of the series and i hope that they start tackling them sooner rather than later.

kunai and reiji's conflict at the end of the episode was so good too. kunai presents an interesting kind of gavan: still morally righteous and just, but he's willing to go the extra mile whereas others would not. if reiji's the ideal gavan, kunai is the type of gavan that works for the greater good. there's the interesting conflict that working solely for the greater good might not be the best situation, but at the same time, mikage needs to be stopped. i'm excited to see what they're going for next with these two now that we have this scruple in their relationship. i do wonder how they're going to gap the bridge between the two, so to speak.

kenji ohba passed away yesterday

[Obituary] We regret to inform you that our business partner, actor Kenji Ohba, passed away on May 6, 2026, at the age of 72, after a long illness. We express our heartfelt gratitude for your kindness and support during the deceased's lifetime, and we respectfully inform you of this news. The wake and funeral will be held privately with only close family members present, in accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family.

Kenji Ohba. I was able to become Space Sheriff Sharivan thanks to you. I'd love to go back someday and shout "Vaporize! Red Flash!" to give a pep talk to my junior space detectives! It became an unfulfilled dream. JAC was a big part of our youth. I won't forget! thank you very much.

Kenji, I'm truly saddened by this. I truly believed he would recover, so I haven't come to terms with it yet, but I'm so grateful for everything he did for me during his lifetime. All my memories of Kenji are bright, fun, and filled with laughter—they're all sparkling and wonderful. I offer my deepest condolences.

Kenji Ohba has passed away. Although I was prepared for this, I can't help but feel disappointed now that the time has actually come. He's a fellow member of JAC (Japan Action Club), and we've been rivals and allies since our teens, fighting together to spread action in Japan. I will never forget the decades we spent together. Kenji, get plenty of rest. You really did a great job. My deepest condolences to the grief of your family, and I cherish the memory of your loved one as we pray for their soul to rest in peace. as much as i do like gavan infinity so far for what it has already brought to the table, kunai is probably the character they needed to really kick the show into gear imo. i'm really excited to see what he brings with his more morally ambiguous allegiance in comparison to everyone else.

i liked it! i am a little concerned that we're setting up the Ι5109 episodes as more comedic filler than plot based, though we did get some interesting implications about death gavan and the potential bbeg of the series. i also liked that we got more insight into kiki and koto's relationship. they're really such a fun pair, petty arguments and all lmao

that scene where koto comes up behind reiji to threaten him was everything lol. a win for jealous space lesbians!

What do you think about Gavan infinity ep 8?

i loved it! i enjoyed getting to see setsuna's backstory as 942 and how that affects his behavior now. i also loved his interactions with agi and reiji in this episode. they did a great job in underscoring that while he doesn't think of himself as necessarily human; he is much closer to humanity than he thought he was.

i also really liked that we didn't just drop off death gavan entirely. it's a low bar to clear, but with a show that's not exactly establishing high stakes atm, it is nice to see that there are bigger implications for the future. i found that continuity is starting to be one of the show's biggest strengths, not just in the big stuff (i.e. death gavan, nega emorgears) but in the small details too like with the gavan way. the writing team of boonboomger were really good at making sure that the smallest details mattered in the long run, and i'm glad to see it here as well.

i think the one thing that i wished we got more of is 999. he's such a compelling character and his motivations in tracking setsuna down were so interesting, so it's a shame that we didn't get more of it. hopefully he comes back for a future episode? if fade can come back, so can 999 i hope haha
