Thup was the perfect culprit for him because he was at the crime scene and he is just an orphan with no one. Also, King hasn't really shown any care for finding the truth. It has always been to do what their supervisors ask for.
I guess he will pretend that Thup already did it in his hometown province and that he is a serial killer.
