The world is forgetting us while we are still fighting to survive.
I am not writing this for attention. I am writing because my family is still trapped in a nightmare that has not ended. Every day is a struggle to find food, clean water, and the most basic necessities. Every day we wonder how we will make it through the next one. The world may have stopped talking about us, but our suffering did not stop. If you see this post, please do not pass by. Reblog, share, and support us if you can. Your kindness can help a family survive another day. We are exhausted, but we have not given up hope. ā¤ļø

Miss Piggy's Guide to Life Photos
People across all classes and ethnicities seem to lack a genuine sense of curiosity or interest in women's lived experiences. Few people want to know what it feels like to be a professional woman in any field. Even in fiction, there are very few opportunities for women to be whoever they want to be.
For example, hardly anyone wants to read about the daily life of a single mother raising a quirky child, while we can find plenty of manga and comics about single fathers, both gay and straight.
Even many women seem more interested in imagining the experiences of male protagonists than exploring the perspectives of women whose lives differ from their own.

A good video that accurately explains why stud is a term used for black lesbians only, not white, not poc, BLACK
Iām not even going to say please. Respect black identities and labels, they are ours for a reason.
Imma need this reblogged by white queer tumblr users since itās mostly yall who wanna use it or want to know why you or other white people shouldnāt/canāt use the term āstudā
[video description: a tiktok made by @/callmekellin, responding to a comment that reads āwhat does being black have to do with being a stud ā¦ā¦.ā
the person in the video is a fem presenting black person in their car. they say āi love that you asked, lemme give you a little history lesson. full disclaimer, no hate to the commenter, iām just giving everybody a bit of a debrief! now firstly, letās talk about where the term stud actually comes from.
back in the days of slavery, when people still used to refer to us as animals, black people that were taller were known to be stronger because they could do more work. so down in the south, they started comparing us to horses. that then coined the term[s] studs for men, and stallions for females. like megan thee stallion. it was really big in the south. to compare us to animals.
but enough about the bleach brigade, letās actually get back into the history. as you know, or if you donāt know, black women were not able to enter the working class until well into the 1960s. before then, there was a small populous of women that were still working, even though they technically were not supposed to.
āhow was it possible?ā these women would be dressing more masculineāusing binders in order to help put down their chests, dressing more in a male formāand because of the fact that most bleach bandits believed that we, as black women, were already masculine, they got away with it. thus coining the term, in the black community, āstud.ā because all the dudes knew, but she was one of the guys. so what did it matter?
any time the chlorine community would come up to black people and be like āhey! is that a female working!?ā the guys would just save her and be like ānah, thatās a stud right there.ā it was joke to them because they all knew. but as times changed and slang did too, the black community still keeps it close at heart. and yes, it was rooted in racism, but weāre taking it back for ourselves.
so once again, if youāre not a black, masculine lesbian that wants to be called a stud, youāre not a stud. youāre a masculine lesbian. even a butch if you want to. i hope that explained it!ā end video description.]
ngl i kinda hate the woke 2.0 and friend that's too woke "jokes" because any bigotry that is normalized enough will have you get dismissed as "the friend that's too woke" for calling it out. like i've seen people called wokescolds and shit for saying it's bad to use mental disorders as an insult. it's basically a way to tell you that it's ruining the optics to point out bigotry or to justify being bigoted since it's to the "right targets"
also it's so unfortunately ironic how racism is downplayed in these ways when the term woke is literally AAVE that got bastardized
being woke is just an aesthetic for so many people and you can really see it in their worldview
I found it touching to know Hong Lu was with Gregor during his mini recovery arc. I didnāt expect it, but it made me like their dynamic a lot more.

its so fucked that not only did they erase our languages and beat and kill our people for using them but they stole the words of important tribes and important people and used them for the military and for trees and for food and for summer camps. average native american name is seen by non ntvs as a joke or something to use or consume, not a human being
i like that ppl r thinking abt town names and things thats very good to be aware of but just to be clear this is actually specifically about other things actually, the things everyone but those looking up their nation forget about
sequoyah was the man who created the tsalagi syllabary before it was ever a tree
if i try to look for apparel or crafts to show off my chickasaw pride, i get results for chickasaw plums which is just a specific species of plum before i get results about human beings
others have mentioned if they google their nations name they get boot companies before their nations website!
theres a tweet that still haunts me that was about a Quirky Quasi American Restaurant in europe or somewhere that was being funny by being cowboy themed and their steaks were named after native american nations. even outside the usa we are nothing but literal dead meat for others consumption
"blackhawk" "apache" - fuck theres a whole wikipedia page for the way weve had our names used for weapons used to colonize and kill us and others!
yes talk about town and location names but you need to look farther than that. it gets so much worse, i promise
