Make 1mil+ in your first year of Story of Seasons.

I’ve literally never made this much money in the first year of a Harvest Moon game in my entire life. It’s either that making money in this game is easy (very likely) or I’m just really bad at video games (even more likely). But I digress.

What you’ll need:

seed maker

sewing studio

flax seeds

fertilizer

I suggest stocking up on fertilizer as early on in the game as possible. It’s fairly cheap and worth using.

Flax seeds grow all year round and first become available in the fall (make sure to build the seed maker and sewing studio before then).

This is what you do:

Plant at least fifteen flax seeds (that’s how much it takes to fill up the small fenced in area that’s on your farm from the beginning).

Use fertilzer on them daily as this will increase their quality by half a star each time you harvest them (quality increase = money increase).

Dry and thresh fifteen flax seeds in your seed maker shed. Don’t just buy new seeds - that beats the point of using fertilzer to increase the quality (buying new seeds means starting from half a star all over again).

Use the rest of the 120 flax seeds in your sewing studio to make gold linen thread and then turn that into cloth. It takes up to eight days which might seem like a long time but that’s about how long it takes for flax seeds to grow anyway. By the time your gold cloth is done, you’ll have more flax seeds ready to harvest and turn into even more gold cloth.

Once your flax seeds is harvested, move your gold linen thread to the station that makes the cloth every morning right when you wake up. Do this first and then do your other farm stuff later.

If you hoard all the cloth you make instead of shipping it when you can, you’ll be able to win public field conquests with literally zero effort.

This is how I ended up playing my game on my second file and because of how easy it is to make money with this method I see almost no point in planting and doing anything else in the game aside from trying to unlock achievements. Now I’m just focusing on wooing the bachelor I want to marry.

I’m in no way claiming that this is the most efficient way to make a large amount of money. I’m just a lazy gamer who accidentally found a efficient way to make a large amount of money and wanted to share.

How to unlock Flax Seed: ship 150,000 G to Silk Country. You have to ship that amount ONLY to Silk Country, remember! Solving the money problem also enable you to take down end-game goals more easily. Some of them: unlock Tropical & Ice, finish Safari expansion, build vehicles and collect postcards… I’ll make another post about this later :)
