My fellows in Christ, it's with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Palestine flags have been banned from Eurovision for years. Also, Basque flag or Kosovo's. The official policy is that they ban any flag of countries not in the United nations. Which is kind of a lame excuse, because the basque flag is a very much official and very legal flag of a member of the UN, even if it's not the entire state flag.

So yeah, it's, indeed a very shitty but not a recent decision. There was a huge polemic in 2019 because the icelandic participants snuggled one and appeared like this on live tv:

I won't be watching it this year, but I would be surprised if no Palestinian flags doesn't end up popping up here and there

i used to not mention their names because due to the little info there was on them online i assumed they didnt want their names to be known.

back then they were something more of... random dudes in a local band and i didnt want to seem disrespectful or weird lol
