I’m so happy to welcome Omelette to our family! He loves to nom on flowers and play in the ferns and generally get himself as messy as possible. Molly wasn’t too sure what to make of Omelette at first, but he now tolerates Omelette’s presence, especially if they are just soaking up the spring unshine.

I knew as soon as I saw this yarn (Lion Brand Landscapes Renewed Yarn Sherbet) it would be perfect for Omelette’s rosy maple moth colours. He’s entirely made without a plan or pattern. My first attempt was… disturbing… (think chest-burster) but I’m pretty happy with how he turned out! When starting to brush out his tail and ‘mane’ I was disappointed to discover that the yarn base is a mesh tube instead of strands, but the resulting texture seems very accurate to the description of Omelette’s pupating state 😂

I’m not sure if I’m happy with his antennae/external gills, so I may change them at some point. But for now, he is perfect!

being a wrestling fan on tumblr feels like being from a parallel universe at times. what do you mean y'all post full ads for gambling apps and microtransaction-filled video games on here just because your fave is in them. i go out of my way to avoid ads and average users who are not earning a dime from these companies put them in the tags MULTIPLE times. on TUMBLR of all places. this is the biggest example of digital culture shock i've ever experienced
