[Context for the song below, but mild spoilers for my fanmade, OC-centered Nightmare Time episode, "Kaler-Ravenous"!]

[This song happens before things get really interesting. Marcy is quickly becoming friends with the nerds, and brings up the fact that he plays guitar and writes music sometimes in conversation. They beg to hear one, so they all slip into the band room while it's empty and Marcy sings for them. Max isn't there, but he's eavesdropping, and events that transpired earlier in the day have the lyrics hitting him in the gut...]

[The song has themes and phrases that hint heavily at what happens later in the story, but in-universe, Marcy wrote it to be somewhat self-deprecating and also to be a comforting melody for others. Nobody should feel alone, no matter what they're going through.]

[A boy about Richie's age enters the dressing room where you're hiding. You can tell this theater's not where he's supposed to be, but he fits right in nonetheless. He gives you a look, and that horrendous blue shit starts dripping from his right eye... but thankfully, he wipes it away.]

"You're not the one I'm on the lookout for, don't worry."

[He shuts the door and leans against it, trying to think of how to begin a conversation before noticing something else.]

"...You're shaking like a rabbit in a lion's den. Maybe you should take te-"

[He stops, reevaluating his words given the situation.]

"...Maybe you should find somewhere more comfortable and sit?"

[Paul jumps, whipping around and tumbling out of his Leading Man chair. He draws in a sharp breath. The old Paul was always easily startled too, so moments like these weren't too surprising to his fellow cast members.]

Whaaat are you doing in here-?? There's a star on the door and everything, who are you looking for? As far as I know you're not supposed to uh.. be... here.

"You could say that. I was just... exploring..."

[He raises his hands slightly in what's supposed to be an appeasing gesture.]

"...And we both know you don't exactly want that star in the first place. As for your second question, I never said I was actively looking for anybody. I'm simply supposed to be watching for someone, and it's not you specifically."

[He's dodging, and it's confusing. But at least he's cut back on the sing-song voice he started with, which clearly takes effort for him. He's trying to deescalate the situation.]

"This isn't even where I'm supposed to be doing that, either. I'm kind of slacking off right now..."

[...You get the feeling he knows a lot of things he's not supposed to. Wherever he came from, he's gotta be important, because nobody else in the theatre would act this fucking weird.]
