i’ve warmed up significantly towards the concept of small talk ever since i learned that its sole purpose is to make friendly noises.

as long as you smile and nod, people are satisfied. it’s just to show that you are nice and there with good intentions. we’re small in a big world and have to rely on other people to be decent to us. so we do our little human dance to each other to say, “i’m not here to hurt you. here’s something we have in common, like the weather or sports or itchy sweaters, so we both know we’re on the same team. we both agree on a basic fact, like that it is rainy or that being itchy is uncomfortable, and this proves we can get along. i’m being light-hearted and non-threatening right now.”

small talk isn’t to get to know a person. it’s just a greeting to affirm you’re buddies in the universe.

i am motivated by wanting the other person to know i am friendly, so i have gotten pretty decent at small talk when i used to hate it.

I still need to complete the face rig. Figuring out the best way to go about LCD screen part. Could use a shrinkwrap but... ehh. I've seen fan models of murder drones that use some kind of special shader, so that also could be an option and def will look way better.

Actually, I'll probably remodel hands too since now I have more experience. It's my first model in blender that actually went further than a blocking stage. So ig here I learnt how to remesh, texture, unwrap UV and rig stuff. Was hell of a journey that I'll say.

Work in 3d is addictive. But there is just one step from love to hate (or what they say? Nvm) - First you're furious because of "how do I do this/that?!" but when you finally get it, it's genuenly hard to stop.

When I will finish the model and rig I think on makind a fight animation or something. Just not sure yet. But I guess we'll see.

PSA: For fan works, reblog and like from OP

Tumblr is rolling out a new reblog/notes system that completely disregards creators. In their new system, they're taking a twitter-style approach where reblogs will have their own notes that DO NOT contribute to the original post's notes.

Because of this, creators will no longer be able to see an accurate display of likes/reblogs/etc. This is completely altering the way feedback and responses to works are going to be received on this website.

If you come across a fan work that you enjoy, please take the extra step to go to OPs original post, and leave your comment/like/reblog there. Or go one step further and send an ask to OP directly to tell them what you liked!

I really hope Tumblr staff reverses course and reverts to the original reblog system for the sake of the large base of creators who use this site to share their works, but until then, please be considerate and make sure the creators here see/feel the love.
