Tips for writing spells:
If you want to keep something close, bury it in your back yard. If you want to attract something, bury it under the front door step If you want to destroy its influence, burn it. If you want it to move away and sink, throw it in running water If you want to disperse it to a distance, throw it into a crossroads If you want to fix its influence, inter it in a five-spot pattern If you want it to work by means of spirits, bury it in a graveyard If you want to hide its point of origin, conceal it in a tree If you want it to work in secret, give it in food or drink If you want it to work by stealth, hide it in clothing or on objects If you want its influence to begin or strengthen, throw it East If you want its influence to end or weaken, throw it West If you want its influence to rise and fall cyclicly, float it in a tidal estuary
Oh, guys. Oh. Guys. This, if you’re ever stuck on how to perform a spell! Handy little guide of awesome.
If you want to work with ancestors or guardian spirits, put it to the North. If you want to work from a place of innocence, put it to the South. If you want its effect to be strong and quick, burn it. If you want it to curse- burn it then bury in the West of a crossroads. If you want to break curses, soak it in water in the West. If you want to add extra power to your spell, dance before dealing with the incantation. If you want it to work by means of spirits, call to the directions If you want it to work by demons, put it in the forever-dark place If you want it to work by angels, burn then put ashes into sanctified water. If you want it to cleanse, shred it and bind in a bundle of sage. If you desire freedom from a situation- do it behind your back.
Fantastic. And remember that these are great suggestions but not rules
Story time: so I took pictures with my friend’s camera when we went to the abandoned school, and he got home, and just gotten to converting the pictures to his phone. He texts our groupchat and says that he’s completely terrified. (Look in the doorway). Take in consideration we went late at night and the only light I used was the camera flash.

Thank you Barbie♡ I’m gonna keep this in my drafts as a reminder!
This is supposed to just be a normal photo of Gritty with a youth hockey team, but because it’s GRITTY, it’s still the funniest thing I’ve seen all day.
This is like a file photo from a missing children’s case
“it’s him! It’s that stranger we saw outside Wawa. He’s in every one of these photos, always lurking in the background. Every single one.”
Gritty is just a cryptid that the team captured and put a uniform on
🌀 Energetic Healing; Waterbending Style 🌀
A method of healing inspired by Katara, and other waterbending healers. It is as close to my heart as this show is. Below are two ways I use this method ~
In the Bath ~
🌀 This method is best used for self healing
🌀 Create your own “spirit water” by adding amethyst, moon water & healing herbs to your bath. I like to use rosemary and bay leaves.
🌀 Lay back, and close your eyes.
🌀 Visualize yourself in the water. Picture a ray of light scanning back and forth over you, like above.
🌀 As it sweeps over you, visualize it to removing any negativity.
🌀 Sometimes I notice it get “stuck” on a certain area, or start to move slowly. This usually indicates a blockage. Focus on those areas a little more intently.
🌀 When you are finished, stand up, and do one last sweep, downwards. Imagine the water droplets falling off of you are the last of your negativity.
🌀 As the bath empties, all negative build-up goes with it.
Healing Yourself & Others ~
🌀 This method is done purely with visualization and moon water, specifically charged with the intent to heal. It can also be done in the astral.
🌀 Place the moon water in a bowl in front of you. Bonus: drop a piece of quartz in to amplify it’s effects. An infusion like the one used in the first method can be used as well.
🌀 Visualize the water rising up out of the bowl and surrounding your hands, like Katara does.
🌀 Now, like the first method, start scanning. Run your hands over yourself or your client, searching for blockages. (If you already know the area you’d like to heal, you can skip this step.)
🌀 As your hands work back and forth across the area you are healing, visualize the water sweeping through, washing away any negative or stagnant energy.
🌀 Allow it to break through any blockages, clearing them.
🌀 When finished, let the water fall back into the bowl, taking all negativity with it. Thank the element, before safely disposing of it.
Things to Consider ~
🌀 Visualization and intent are key. You don’t need to use physical water, I just find it helps.
🌀 Do what feels right to you. Intuition is so important in healing. This method came to me one day while I was soaking in the tub. I instantly connected it to how Katara heals, and built off of that. Since then, the series continues to inspire my methods. I use hand movements often while doing energy work, so it works for me.
🌀 Healing takes time. It may take a few sessions to really clear away any build-ups or blockages. Be patient with yourself.
Happy Healing!
I love this!!!

What to do for the new year as a spiritual person
I thought to make a post on what me and my WHOLE family does when it’s close to the near year. We do this so that we welcome in good luck, abundance and prosperity along with wealth. It’s something that mainly my mom’s side has done for a very long time and good things happen from it (I also called this what to do for the new year as a spiritual person because me and my mom’s side of the family come from a long line of spiritual family members!)
So first off!
Go through your shit Like seriously. Get rid of things you no longer want or need. Like clothes, nick nacks, jewelry etc. Throw things away that is trash!
Organize make things more nice and neat within your room/home. go through things to find out what needs to be taken out, trashed or placed somewhere else.
Clean now with cleaning… You gotta do some serious shit. Make sure the dish washer is always empty and no dishes are in the sink (as best as you can). Your bed is made, your bath room is nice and clean, No piling trash etc. The point is, you have to try and stay clean as much as you can until it’s finally the new year and new month. Also wash your bedding and curtains if you have any.
Cleanse my grandmother would make flour washes to welcome in prosperity and abundance. She (and my mom when she was younger) would even wash the walls too. You can play music, light a candle, burn incense, use sage, holy water, you can even use perfume or colonge to cleanse your place.
Keep it looking spotless until the new year!
Something to note:
Now this is optional but is VERY helpful. My mom told me if you wish you can dedicate your place to who ever you work with. That your home is their’s as well. That you promise to keep it clean as possible in their honor for you know they don’t like dirty things.
You could possibly even ask them to help bring in prosperity and abundance if you promise to keep the place clean in their honor most of the time.
Cleanliness is next to godly-ness
Another thing, My grandmother would always buy new bedding and curtains and other stuff. In with the new and out with the old basically.
Celebrate the new year with your spirit friends, guardians or deities!
Subtle Yule Witching -1- Decorating with Plants ✨🌿✨
The Holiday season is one of those magical times of year where witches can go about their witching and go unnoticed if they wish to since many modern Christmas traditions either have Pagan/witchy roots or can easily be made magical simply by doing things with purpose and intention.
I’ll be posting a series of posts on Subtle Yule Witching throughout the season and I’ll be making a master post that links to them all. If you have any suggestions for other areas of the season that could be made witchy, feel free to suggest them!

Plants!
Bring nature indoors!
Wreaths, centre pieces, arrangements, garlands oh my!
Greens indoors are super common and no one will even think twice about it. Decorate with fresh winter greenery, berries, branches, and dried or pressed florals. This may seem very common and mundane, but simply choosing your plants based around your intentions for the season or even enchanting them to release your intention into your home can make a big difference.
I use things that I can either forage for (responsibly and legally) or plants that are easily grown indoors for this time of year.
Remember that correspondences are a rather personal thing. While historical uses are important, I mainly write correspondence lists based on the energies I feel and medicinal uses of the item. You may not get the same feeling as I do from an item, and that’s totally okay.
Some examples of greens/plants to decorate with even by simply laying them down the centre of a table or on a mantle:
Amaryllis - protection, banishing evil/negativity (very poisonous, do not use if you have pets)
Birch - purification/cleansing, sweetness, rebirth/beginnings
Cedar - comfort, cleansing, longevity, preservation, protection, growth, summoning spirits. (one of my favourite ingredients)
Clementines - Joy, sweetness, refreshment, attracting positivity, good compartmentalizing in life
Cranberries - perseverance, action, healing
Fir - clarity, sealing/binding, cleansing, protection, warding, longevity
Wild Grape Vine - tenacity, death and rebirth, embracing ‘wilderness'
Hemlock - (not poison hemlock, but the evergreen tree) - cleansing, longevity, secrets, spirit work
Hyacinth (potted and forced) - spreading positivity, sleep, luck, ward against nightmares (toxic to pets)
Hydrangea (dried) - adaptation, maturity, hex-love/fidelity
Juniper - cleansing, motivation, health, energy, protection, prosperity (another of my favourites)
Lavender - calm, peace, sleep, healing, cleansing, mood boosting/banish depression and anxiety
Oranges - joy, abundance, health, refreshment, attracting positivity, good compartmentalizing in life
Pine - protection, cleansing, new beginnings, clean breaks, grounding, growth
Pine Cones - Same as pine, plus fertility, warding evil from sacred spaces
Poinsettia - Expressing yourself/feeling freely, finding your path (toxic, keep away from all pets)
Pomegranate - fertility, abundance, wishes, attraction
Rosemary - improving memory, studying, cleansing, healing, banish nightmares, past lives, banishing, faerie work
Staghorn Sumac Berries - Healing, truth, cleansing, energizing
Yew - astral and spirit work, death, faerie work, rebirth, longevity, deception, hex breaking (do not use if you have any pets.)

During the holidays, candles are /everywhere/ at this time of year, which is great news for us witches! No one will question at all why your home is covered in flaming beauties. Since colour correspondence charts are everywhere and easy to find, I thought I’d talk about candle placement. Candles give off energy and can charge a space but they aren’t great absorbers of energy (at least for me,) So placing them in areas with an excess of hot energy can be too much.
Some places I love to place candles:
- By the front door - you know how big stores have those massive heat or cooling vents right at the front door to regulate temperature? Candles in the entrance way can do the same thing with energies. If you enchant your candles, you can create wards to only allow positive energies and spirits to enter, or you can enchant them cleans any energies that come through to keep your home in balance with your own energies instead of getting all messed up with the stuff that your guests all bring in.
- In the kitchen - I feel like you wouldn’t even need to enchant kitchen candles specifically in order for them to put good energies into any meals you prepare. You could enchant them if you’re having other people bring meals or pot-luck style gatherings to add positivity (or anything else you want to add) to the food others bring in as well.
- On dining room tables - this sort of has the same effect as candles in the kitchen, but since it’s a very social setting, it can have a great effect on the mood of the room and if your family tends to have tense holiday meals together, you can enchant them to bring harmony and understanding to the space.
- In guest rooms - If any room in the house has stagnant energy followed by a whirlwind of strange energies when people come through to stay for the holidays. Before your guests come, light some candles and maybe some smoke cleansing to get that stagnation away and then have them lit in there at least once a day to keep it moving and positive.
- Near decorations that have a specific intent (like greenery etc) - The candles being near (but at a safe distance from) your purposeful decorations will help amplify and spread those item’s intention.
- Outside - Having candles in hurricane candle holders might not be the most common thing, but it certainly won’t raise any unwanted eyebrows. It can do similar things to having candles in an entrance way, but any wards you have will have a much larger radius and your positivity will spread to more people and anyone who passes your property.
Scented candles are really not talked about much in the witchy community and I have no clue why! The scent notes that a candle has can be used as correspondences to your intent, and then the flame can work to activate, amplify and spread your enchantments/intentions/spells.
Here are some popular seasonal candle scent notes correspondences:

Connecting With A Tree
A great way of connecting with the element of earth, or even another form of grounding or meditation, is to connect to a tree. Here’s how:
Find a large tree and sit down with your back against its spine. (You can also climb the tree and sit with your back against it in it’s branches)
Close your eyes and feel the tree’s solid strength as you rest against it.
Breathe in and out in a relaxed manner. As you do, visualise the energy of the tree being absorbed into your body. Breathe in and out thirteen times, each time taking in some of the tree’s energy until your whole body is enveloped. Feel yourself becoming part of the tree.
Call to the tree’s spirit, commune with it, and settle into the feeling of being a tree. Rest in this state for as long as desired.
When you wish to return to normal, bid farewell to the tree’s spirit and breathe in and out thirteen times, this time releasing the energy of the tree. Open your eyes.
Notes:
If for any reason, you feel uncomfortable or “rejected” by the tree, simply disconnect from its energy, apologise for intruding, and leave the area. It doesn’t happen very often, but it’s possible.
For more advanced witches, this exercise could be evolved to include transplanting your consciousness into the tree.
If you’re going to do a magical working that conducts energy through a tree (e.g. drawing energy down through a tree, using a tree to symbolise the element of earth in a circle, etc.), it’s polite to use the exercise here with the tree, and when you feel a connection, ask the tree’s permission to participate in the magical working. Aside from being polite, this also help’s align the tree’s energy flow with the rite’s, starting things off in the correct manner.
This information was collected from the book ‘Spellcasting: Beyond the Basics’ by Michael Furie.
