Murlough Bay (from Irish: Murlach, meaning "Sea Inlet") is a bay on the north coast of Northern Ireland in County Antrim between Fair Head and Torr Head. It is known for its outstanding beauty and remote location, with close views of Rathlin Island and views across the ocean to the Mull of Kintyre, Islay, Jura and various other Scottish islands. The local geology is typical of the Antrim topography with basalt overlaying sandstone and limestone. The area has many kilns used in the production of lime.

Although he is now buried in Dublin, Murlough Bay was the burial place of choice of Roger Casement, a former British Government Diplomat, knighted by King George V in 1911 and Irish Nationalist revolutionary leader who was executed by the Government of the United Kingdom for treason in August 1916 during World War One.

Lough MacNean Twilight

Lough MacNean (from Irish: Loch Mac nÉan, meaning "Mac nÉan's lake") is a large freshwater lake of two parts on the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

At sunset on the day I visited the place, the sky above the lake exploded in beautiful colours and made the little island with its single tree stand out like a magical beacon.

Upper Lough MacNean, the larger western lake, is split between County Fermanagh (in Northern Ireland), County Cavan and County Leitrim (in the Republic of Ireland). On the strip of land between the two lakes are the villages of Belcoo (County Fermanagh) and Blacklion (County Cavan). A river runs between the villages, linking the eastern and western lakes.

Dublin Port with the Irish Ferries Ulysses & the Pigeon House Power Station chimneys with steam at dusk. This was taken a few years back during a cold but beautiful winter walk out on the Great South Wall pier that reaches several kilometres into Dubin Bay. The power plant has since been taken off line and the chimneys no longer 'smoke'. They are a famous landmark for Dublin.

Embalse del Mulato

Pine forest, hills and a reservoir in the hills of Gran Canaria. I took this two years ago before our babies were born. We decided that we needed a holiday before our lives went upside down and booked a package tour to the sun. Never regretted it and I got a few nice photos in the bargain :)
