Perhaps a hot take, but I think most of you who find NM boring and ugly are closeted racists. I’ve seen travel vlogs to Spain and Italy and France with landscapes identical to north/central NM, comments praising how gorgeous it is…. Interesting….

I’m referring to north and central because those are the areas I’ve lived but this applies to the more desolate areas too. You guys are interested in the desert when it’s a luxury vacation to west Asia catering to your whiteness, but not when it’s a state that has historically been oppressed and underfunded… a state whose history is that of genocide and slaughter… and refuses to hide that fact…. Hmmm

okay to actually articulate myself like an adult,

EVERYONE GET WEIRDER AND EVERYONE GET UGLIER NOW. now is NOT the time to pander to social and societal norms and expectations now is the time to be unabashedly YOURSELF and be unabashedly UGLY. it’s COOL to be mid it’s COOL to be strange and offputting…

lead by example and get WEIRD. stop caring if whatever you’re saying/doing/wearing has broad aesthetic appeal it doesn’t MATTER because it’s self expression is YOURS. stop getting a NOSE JOB i LIKE YOUR NOSE AS IT IS. unless you need one for a medical thing then don’t let me stop you. but KNOCK IT OFF!!! STOP getting your teeth cosmetically straightened STOP getting veneers and STOP worrying if you’re NOT fitting the beauty standard!!! i think the fact you look weird is WAY COOLER and WAY MORE ATTRACTIVE than if you have INSTAGRAM FACE!!!

no one who has anything negative or judgmental to say about you and how you present yourself and your joy is anyone you should care about the opinion of. its cool to be cringe and cringe to be “cool”. nonchalance and performative normalcy is SAD and BORING and a PLAGUE UPON THIS EARTH.
