My brain has been cursed with an image of Hubert as a DJ. He takes it fully seriously. I picture itâs ofc in a modern au but like still in the officerâs academy or something similar in the historical Garreg Mach Monastery. Imagine Hubert being a DJ in the Cathedral, blasting his music while bright lights are shining and Seteth dies a bit inside.
Here me out- 3h au where itâs more of a classic fe story. The Church is trying to revive Sothis but is just making monsters in the process (including Byleth) so the lords have to team up to take Rhea down while also dealing with TWSITD.
Edelgard is the hero who can wield a holy weapon. She grew up around a lot of church members and grew very suspicious and distrustful of them especially after she accidentally overheard Rhea talking about the experiments on Byleth.
Claude is mind behind all of the plans. While Leicester has less ties to the Church Claude was often in Adrestia or Faerghus to visit Edelgard and Dimitri as his uncle wanted him to âfoster relationships with the other nationsâ. This lead to him also seeing how suspicious the church was. He is also an expert in some Almyran magics.
Dimitri on the other hand did not notice, and while Faerghus was the âholy kingdomâ Rhea and the church higher ups didnât seem to care much about him. This was because the title of holy kingdom was due to their loyalty to the church and nothing more. The reason Dimitri in particular was more dismissed is the Blaiddyd line had fell dragon blood (even though they had long claimed it was holy, the lie collaborated by the church) and in Dimitri had a lot of fell energy.
There is still a war with the empire and kingdom although the kingdom are the aggressors. Prince Dimitri has gone missing and Regent Rufus and Advisor Cornelia are claiming the empire kidnapped him. Edelgard knows this canât be true and Claude suspects Rufus is hiding something so with a small group of allies they depart to sneak into the kingdom to find Dimitri. They first suspect the Church has him but after breaking into one of the Churchâs labs they find out about TWSITD and that theyâre most likely responsible.
On the road they meet Byleth, a mercenary hunting TWSITD who agrees to join and help take them down and suspects they know where Dimitri is held. Once they break into the find him but Thales reveals the truth of the Blaiddyd line and pushed Dimitri into a fell dragon form. Made mad with rage and pain Dimitri doesnât recognize anyone and attacks indiscriminately. Claude is able to calm him down with a magical song and they make Thales retreat.
Now reunited with the other lords Dimitri joins their cause to stop the war, expose the church, and defeat TWSITD.
They all have unique classes of course and weapon wise itâs
ohh, this looks really interesting. If you donât mind me adding some of my own ideas here, I can imagine this creating some interesting possibilities for how certain characters are recruited. My initial thought would be Dimitriâs childhood friends (Ingrid, Sylvain, and Felix) but Iâm sure it applies to other characters.
for the three I mentioned, with the way youâve set up the au, imagine a situation where the three are divided on whether to trust Rufus and Corneliaâs claims on Dimitriâs whereabouts. Like, one of them fully thinks theyâre lying, while others are more hesitant to think that. Or maybe all of them think Rufus and Cornelia are lying but are forced to go along with it for their familyâs sake. Like, at some point before the group finds Dimitri, they have to go against Kingdom soldiers and one of the three friends ends up as an enemy combatant. And you end up with a Jill from PoR situation where you need to keep them alive as an enemy so you can recruit them later. Using Ingrid as an example, she shows up as an enemy but shows clear doubt over whether Dimitri is truly a captive of the empire but has to fight anyway to support her family, cut to a few chapters later after Dimitriâs rescue and she shows up as an enemy again, but this time Dimitri can talk to her and recruit her.
Maybe Sylvain or Felix (or both) would defect on their own in search of Dimitri, and then the player characters come across them while also looking for Dimitri so the groups would decide to join together in the search?
Oooooo I can totally see that. The idea of Ingrid being the more hesitant to believe sheâs being lied to makes sense especially when you factor in she has less options cause she needs to keep her house a priority. I like the idea that Dimitri has to talk to her, cause he may be the only one she believes, especially if theyâre still fighting the kingdom at that point cause joining would mean possibly endangering her house. Comparatively Felix and Sylvain are in better positions, Felix especially cause I doubt Rodrigue believes Rufus and Cornelia and is more likely to act on it.
I can totally see Felix and Sylvain deserting and leaving to go find Dimitri, especially Felix. Felix wouldnât believe the lies for a second, already being one of the only characters to not put up with the duty talk of Faerghus. I donât think heâd tell his dad but the implicit support is there. As for Sylvain I feel like heâd either get dragged along by Felix or also sets out on his own and they run into each other. I picture them being recruited as allies who show up part way through a map. If Edelgard or Claude talk to them they immediately join mid-map.
For our other blue lions I feel like Dedue would be recruited from being an ally mid battle as well by Edelgard or Claude but has to be talked to multiple times (similar to having to knock one Midoriâs door multiple times in fates)
Ashe I could see joining after a Lonato chapter or interaction, either a fight and Ashe is spared, then they talk to Lonato afterwards or theyâre able to avoid fighting since Lonato is more likely to listen and Ashe is sent with them as a sign of loyalty thus recruited in between maps.
Okie dokie! If weâve got potential ways for the rest of the Lions to join, no reason to exclude the magical girls of the group!
I feel like Annette and Mercedes would be the type of characters where they either join at the same time, or you need one to recruit the other. I was thinking maybe a situation where the main cast needs to go to the Fhirdiad School of Sorcery, maybe to investigate Cornelia or something, and they come across some secret Agarthan experiment stuff being done in the schoolâs basement or something. And maybe the girls stumble into that because of Annetteâs clumsiness and need to be rescued, and they join the main cast afterwards.
Or maybe if theyâre out of the School of Sorcery, thereâs a situation where Agarthans are kidnapping commoners for experiments and stuff, and the group runs into Mercedes whose fending off Agarthans while trying to protect a group of orphans. Maybe she got taken too while helping out the needy at the church. Could be a fog of war chapter where the Mercedes and the orphans are all green units, and the goal is to protect the orphans, with Mercedes joining at the end if enough are rescued.
SORRY IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO RESPOND. Iâm a full time college student and this week was finals.
Yesssssss. Love those ideas.
I can kinda picture a combination? Like Mercedes is recruited the way you talk about where sheâs trying to save orphans from being kidnapped and itâs fog of war style map. Especially since if thereâs no academy to meet she wouldnât know any of the group outside of Annette of course. Maybe she wouldnât have heard about Dimitri through Annette talking about her dad? I mean sheâd know of the royals regardless bust still.
Maybe then Mercedes leads them to the School of Sorcery to get Annette and confront Cornelia. They know more directly what to look for but I like the idea that Annette somehow got kidnapped or trapped cause of their clumsiness. The latter makes more sense to me especially cause oh how trusting she is. I feel like she would initially trust Cornelia, probably a bit suspicious but wouldnât suspect all the stuff Cornelia is doing.
Timeline wise I feel like theyâre recruited in the middle? I can see Dedue being the earliest of the Blue Lions, maybe they end up looking for Dimitri in the same place he is. Then Mercedes and Annette followed by Felix and Sylvain. Then probably Ashe, makes even more sense for Lonato to talk of Sylvain and Felix are able to vouch on behalf of their houses, at least Felix. Ashe could also be recruited after Dimitri is found with Dimitri doing all of the vouching. Then Ingrid after Dimitri is found.
As for the other houses, Hubert and Hilda are probably there from the get go. Iâm trying to think of who would be an enemy that has to be defeated and Iâm thinking probably Ferdinand? I could see his dad trying to capitalize on Faerghus attacking and Edelgard leaving by trying to take the throne. He sends Ferdinand to attack and after beating him Edelgard tells him the truth, backed by the others.
Oh, a combination of the two ideas for Mercie and Annie sounds like it would work great. And the join order for the Blue Lions makes sense. Although I'm wondering at which point the group finds Dimitri. It has to be early on to fit everything else we've mentioned, but I'm not quite clear on how early that would be.
Anyways, since you've gone and mentioned Ferdinand, that feels like a nice segue into the recruitment of all the other Eagles. You mentioned wondering about characters that would start as enemies, and I feel like Caspar is another nice candidate for that. He's probably either trying to prove himself or actively just being his usual hothead self and insisted his dad let him go on the same attack Ferdinand is leading to prove his might. Only instead of needing to be defeated and then recruited by Edelgard, it ends up being Linhardt who recruits him. Because the two are best friends, and if Caspar doesn't have any meaningful bonds with any of the other Eagles then Linhardt is probably the only person who could convince him to change sides.
And a reason for Linhardt to be on the main cast's side at this point... well he's probably smart enough to figure out the fishy stuff going on involving the Agarthans/The Church (Whoever is playing more relevant villain role in the Empire). Probably not the full extent of everything, but I feel like he has a good chance of just... figuring out there's some kind of unethical stuff going on. Especially if his father is involved in some capacity. And while he may be really lazy, he does have a good sense of right and wrong, and we know in canon he cannot agree with human experimentation on an ethical level (which we learn in his monastery Conversation the chapter after all the Remire stuff happens). So maybe Linhardt learns about the human experimentation, figures out that a lot of people high up in the Adrestrian government are involved so he cannot go to any of them, learns that the throne to the heir of his country has tun off and is apparently with the heir to the most powerful family in Leicester and decides that if there's anyone he should relay stuff he's learned to, it'd be them. Because he may be lazy, but this feels like the kind of stuff that would get him to actually do stuff, even if he complains about it. Or maybe his father is trying to get Linhardt more involved in some of the shadier stuff and that's what gets Linhardt to say "absolutely not" and leave.
So he goes out to find the main cast, potentially gets declared a traitor if the people in power figure out exactly why he ran off, and gets stuck joining the main team. Then cut to a few chapters later when Caspar shows up as an enemy and Linhardt can go over to recruit his best friend by telling him how corrupt their country is and all the unethical stuff their parents are doing.
Oooo yes I love the idea of Linhardt learning early on and leaving to go find Edelgard. He may love his naps but yeah be does have issues with human experimentation like you said. If we want to bring his dad into this and figure out how/when Dimitri is found we could honestly connect them. Maybe Linhardtâs dad was communicating with Cornelia and planned to move Linhardt to Faerghus to work under Cornelia in order to study and hone his already sharp intellect. When he runs away to find Edelgard he brings with him knowledge of Dimitriâs location inside Faerghus.
Yeah Dimitri being found would definitely need to be early. Originally I was thinking maybe a 1/3 of the way through but considering theyâd likely still have the war to end, church to deal with, and TWSITD to deal with maybe 1/4th of the way through makes more sense. Early enough time for Dimitri to be present for the vast majority of the story while giving enough time for malicious forces in the Kingdom and especially the Empire to take over. I say especially cause if Cornelia and Rufus are in charge then the Kingdom is basically already taken over.
Love the idea of Linhardt having to be the one to recruit Caspar that makes total sense. I feel like Linhardt also would not have to defeat Caspar, just talk to him.
As for which antagonist forces are present where TWSITD are definitely the dominate force in the Kingdom with Cornelia. I kind of picture that while Dimitri is definitely the most disliked the Church has never been the biggest fans of the Blaiddyd line due to their fell dragon blood leaving space for the Agarthans to worm their way in more easily. Thus most likely the Church is very present in either the Empire or Alliance. The Empire is the more logical choice, although it could be more 50/50 maybe with some working with TWSITD like Ferdinand and Linhardtâs dads.
As for the recruiting of other Black Eagles. I could see Bernadetta being an enemy recruit. Either her dad is involved in the scheme with the other scheming dads or maybe heâs working for Rhea. Maybe sheâs somewhat aware that the Agarthans are rising in power and to combat this sheâs doubled down on her own experiments trying to revive Sothis and had Bernadettaâs dad guard one of their labs. Bernadetta I feel would surrender after being talked to and leave the map. I could see there being a condition though that like her dad has to be killed after sheâs been talked to, if heâs killed before sheâs talked to she just runs away instead of joining after the map.
Minor detail but I think it would be interesting if there was that one trope (or like plot cliche?) where all of the lords gain a power up at some point around but after the half way point. Edelgard could gain a holy weapon, I can see her having divine dragon blood however like most royals she canât turn into a dragon she just gets a cool weapon. Claude maybe gets a level up to his Almyran magic like a new exclusive spell, probably not a damage one though like a status affect one or summoning or something, and maybe Dimitri gets a dragon stone. I can totally see SWSITD keeping dragon stones away from him especially if they wanted to turn him into a weapon of some kind.
ohh, love everything you said here. The Church having the strongest presence in the Empire definitely makes sense. And I really like the idea of the lords getting some form of âpower upâ at some point. Dimitri getting dragon stones seems neat. And the group pilfering it from a TWSITD base makes sense. Or maybe he could just get Areadhbar from the Kingdom, with him starting with the dragon stone from joining. I could maybe see Edelgardâs or Claudeâs having to do with the Nabateans in some capacity? Maybe they have to go to the Red Canyon for whatever reason and find stuff there, or maybe it could involve some of the saints (Macuil and/or Indech) who give a trial of some sort that the main cast need to overcome.
Also the Bernadetta recruitment sounds cool. Having it be situational based on the order you beat her and her dad seems like a neat little gimmick. Also why not finish discussing the recruitment for the other Black Eagles? Dorothea I feel would be a character you recruit by visiting a village. Maybe the main group openly show their goals about making things better for the people of Fodlan and that gets Dorothea to want to join them. Which leaves us with Petra which⌠yeah Iâll be honest, not sure how sheâd join. Because the situation with Brigid kinda makes things hard and a bit complicated. The best I can figure out is a situation where the bad guys do something to try and pressure Brigid into joining the conflict at some point, which the main group needs to stop. Then chapter happens, and by the end Petra talks to Edelgard and offers to join up with them, on the sole condition that after they deal with the Fodlan stuff, Edelgard will do what she can to ensure Brigid regains independence.
Oooooo love those ideas. Dimitriâs power up being Areadhbar makes sense. I do like the idea of needing to get a dragon stone being a priority, from a plot perspective because Dimitri would be concerned about going into a blind rage again. I guess realistically they probably wouldnât know what a dragon stone is until they find it but I can see the stone being hidden in like a different area deeper into the base or something. What if itâs like a set of maps that follow immediately after each other with not pause in between? The first one the group arrives and defeats dragon Dimitri and scare away Thales and second theyâre fighting more agarthans and after that they find the dragon stone. It would be interesting if during that map Dimitri is force deployed but unable to fight lacking a weapon and the general concerns about him going into another draconic rage. He would still have his regular stats so he wouldnât be squishy but would be unable to fight.
Love the idea of involving the Nabateans. If we wanna involve playable characters that are also saints Seteth and Flayn could also be interesting. While they are of course loyal to Rhea there is some tension especially with Seteth not liking Rheaâs experimenting (as we can see with him asking what she did to Byleth) and if in this au sheâs doing even more experimenting I could see Seteth and Flayn taking a more neutral stance? Like theyâre not siding with Edelgard but they give their trials and then leave and show back up after the war. They could give separate trials but if we want to involve more of the saints maybe they have a combined trial and so do Indech and Macuil. Thematically what Iâm thinking is Edelgard faces the Cichol and Cethleann trial and Claude faces the Indech and Macuil one.
That idea makes a lot of sense for Dorothea, where sheâs found in a village and once they explain their goals she joins. I could also see maybe sheâs traveling through doing her songstress work and Manuela is also there and either joins or stays in the village to help them but is now their ally. Yeah Petra is kinda tricky but that makes sense that she agrees to join on the condition Edelgard will work to set Brigid free. If we want to connect the Church more as a primary antagonist maybe the Church is directly trying to control Brigid/establish the church there and Petra left to find aid. She heard about Edelgardâs traveling and decided to see if the princess would hear her out.
Now that leaves the Golden Deer. Hilda of course is there from the beginning and I feel like Marianne is an obvious one to talk about. I could see her either going to find Hilda and helping a village on the way thatâs being attacked or something similar. The group arrive and she joins once talked to. An alternative is thereâs surprise attacks on alliance territory by a mix of TWSITD and Faerghus troops and Marianne is in one of the villages trying to help the people.

College is wild cause like what do you mean I went from struggling for hours on end just to fall asleep to passing out on random surfaces in my houses like the fucking dining room floor

Say what you will about Hopesâ questionable writing and Azure Gleam specifically (like wtf was that ending and how Edelgard was treated) but I will always like how Dimitri is basically just holding Faerghus together with duck tape. Pieces keep falling off as he scrambles to tape it back while the whole thing is tilting a little to the side and may fall.
Not my usual fire emblem post but but I am in fact an artist and this piece got into an exhibition at my university recently so I figured Iâd share it!
The vase is 13 inches tall and entirely coil built! Iâm very new to ceramics and the pot is very uneven but I decided to embrace that lol. Itâs based on flowers pots but also mold, its title is âMold Potâ I know, Iâm so creative lol.
Lion man Dimitri is such a fun concept but instead of him having vague âbeast desiresâ that relate to violence or nsfw stuff I think itâs far more entertaining if lion man Dimitriâs only âbeast desiresâ are like sitting in boxes and occasionally knocking stuff off tables and stuff. I want him to be a silly little guy, made funnier by his height especially post timeskip.
Sometime I try yo explain ships are similar but I canât formulate why so itâs just kinda vibes??? Like Dimilix (FE) and Acheswan (HSR) have similar vibes to me but I canât explain it well so I feel like Iâm just gesturing wildly saying âSEE, SEE THEYRE SIMILARâ
I wonder how many times Dedue had to hold back from calling Dimitri a dumbass. Not that he ever actually would but like. How many weeds did Dimitri try to eat, how many suspicious persons did he almost trust, how much nonsense did he get up to that Dedue put a stop to.
I love looking at a set of angsty siblings and putting them in an au where they are a different set of angsty siblings. Like Edelgard and Dimitri are Ragbros now (Edelgard is Diluc and Dimitri is Kaeya. Also Anselma is Crepus).
I love the idea of Modern AU Dimitri being this seemingly normal preppy boy in high school who comes from a rich family and had a lot of friends but then he completely vanished one day. Heâs not really seen till years later when he shows up at the class reunion after Byleth found him and dragged him there. He walks in with multiple new piercings and tattoos and they find out heâs been living in shitty apartments and his car for past 5 years.
Anytime I see someone complain that fans are making games âtoo wokeâ or talking about how âthat character isnât gay! Youâre forcing it!â I will simply make another queer headcanon /hj
âStop shipping them theyâre both straight!â
Blade from HSR is trans now đ
âNo heâs totally straight and not trans and would hate gay peopleâ
Congrats to Shoko Ieiri for coming out as a lesbian!
âNo more of this transgender nonsense in this fandomâ
Whatâs that? Ling Wen is aroace? Good for her
âNo sheâs a WOMAN who loves MENâ
Oh look! Itâs Jin Kazama, heard heâs bisexual!
Like, as long as they arenât harmful let people have their hcâs. And just because a character isnât confirmed queer does not automatically mean theyâre cishet. Homophobia and transphobia I will simply use as fuel to make me stronger đ¤
Here to push the Dimitri and Yuri being friends agenda (in Azure Moon primarily).
They meet again in the slums of Fhirdiad after Dedue helps Dimitri escape. Yuri had been visiting the capital to learn what he could of the situation and is very surprised to find the prince crouched covered in dirt and grime in a dirty alleyway. He is surprised to see Dimitri alive but helps him hide from Corneliaâs forces and the guards. For a time heâs stuck essentially babysitting a man who is extremely unstable and currently the most wanted man in the Kingdom. He canât really help Dimitri mentally but he tries, for the sake of Faerghus at least. Yuri leaves Fhirdiad as soon as they can and takes Dimitri with him. Dimitri gets a bit better and while and Yuri convinces him to not run off and kill Edelgard yet, he has to lay low for a bit first. He starts helping Yuri when he can mostly with his strength.
Yuri teaches Dimitri a lot of skills he uses in his line of work like, how to walk silently, to throw knives, and even more trivial things like how to curse and antagonize your enemies. He ends up joining Mockingbirdâs Thieves until his restlessness and desire for revenge consume him again and he leaves, although Yuri does convince him to take a new set of armor with him
They of course reunite a few years later at the class reunion. Everyone concerned about Dimitriâs state and how he refuses to talk to people most of the time as he just stands in the chapel. Then one day Yuri barges in barking orders at him to everyoneâs shock, and even more surprising that Dimitri kind of listens. No one is swaying his opinions or goals but Yuri is able to get him to bathe and eat.
Instead of being a sudden change Dimitri slowly gets better, while Rodriguesâs death is certainly a wake up call and causes him to open up faster he was a bit more open initially and instead of just Byleth he also has Yuri and soon the other blue lions.
When he becomes King he appoints Yuri as an advisor and I feel is a more radical King. Faerghus is very steeped in tradition and that wonât change but you have a Prince born with just so much empathy who then lived in poverty for 5 years and now cares a less for nobles. Over the years he gives away a lot of the Blaiddyd fortune to those in poverty.
Yuri had also made him a menace to the council/noble society. Dimitri is now somewhat crass with plenty of swearing and even the occasional innuendo. His manners often arenât the best either. He sometimes eats with his hands and takes pride in his ability to drink Balthus under the table.
