I’m okay. Just quarantined for a while. How is everyone?
The whole virus thing has emptied some shelves but life in the city is, for the most part, continuing on. There are announcements on the train now, asking people to work from home or avoid using public transport during busy hours. No one really listens. Everyone has work to do, after all.
This was taken somewhere in Asakusa but I don’t remember exactly where because I was with a friend and we were grabbing a lot.
I love seeing how squished together everything is in the city.
I love taking pictures with a lot of shadows. The light is always beautiful in Japan and you see it the most in pictures with a lot of contrasting shadows.
Something that always surprises me is just how colorful Japan really is. When I was young, I used to print out pictures just like this one to put on my wall. I always assumed that someone edited it to make it more contrasted. I can assure you that I took this picture this afternoon, and there’s no filter or editing on it.
Japan just really is that aesthetically pleasing. Even old things, outdated things. They’re so close to the new things that it’s almost like the same exact thing. Amazing...

Sometimes, I miss this collaboration on the Keikyu Line. They wrapped the trains in a beautiful shade of blue, with the characters dancing and running on the side.
