I watched the Tudors. Henry is Married to Kat right now. The way she acts towards Mary (She acts like a third grade bully) proves your point of her being a brat ❣️

yeah, The Tudors was not kind to katheryn howard. it portrayed her as a vapid spoiled brat (even though she’d actually had a pretty deprived upbringing compared to a lot of nobility), as young as possible but also as sexualised as possible.

historically, mary didn’t particularly like her new step-mother (potentially misplaced anger that her father had married a girl seven years her junior, potentially because of the boleyn link, potentially because she was just sick of step-mothers, potentially even because she thought it was kind of insulting that her father placed this teenager on the same throne as Mary’s mother). so she was not particularly respectful, but to my knowledge the only record we have of katheryn retaliating is when she removed two of mary’s maids from her employ basically as a way to say “listen you need to at least respect me because like it or not i’m queen right now” (she then returned them when mary begrudgingly accepted her). they didn’t really get on, but katheryn was far from a third-grade bully in real life and in fact demonstrated a lot of kindness to people

It's such a shame (to put it EXTREMELY passively) that Kat is continously perceived in media just as she was in Tudor times, as a sex object. It makes me feel sick to see a 20 something, giggling, women, flicking her hair and acting all flirtatious in documentaries, TV shows, movies etc. And I'm just meant to think that's Katheryn? Time and time again she is deprived of her dignity, I'd go as far to say some sources even suggest she deserved what she got.

Anyway, please link me any accurate, not-super-awful depictions of my Katheryn Howard please.
