Most of our perception of what Goblin sharks looks like comes from dead specimines where they are all mangled and shrivelled, and are always positioned with their jaws protruding out.

When while alive they only ever extend their jaw for feeding, and arnt half as creepy looking

I regret making this post cause now theirs a bunch of additions about how scary marine animals are and people being weenies about the ocean. the vast majority of “scary looking” animals are not dangerous to humans any deep sea animals are generalmy extremely lethargic and slow moving and can’t survive for long or at all at ocean surface levels.

Meanwhile, grizzly bears don’t wait for humans to die before they start eating them, so really be scared of the woods at least just as much as the ocean
