The beast of Gévaudan
I’m going to talk about an animal eating humans. If you’re not comfortable with that, bye, have a good day. And a cookie
The beast of Gevauden went on it’s rampage during 1764 and 1767 in France. It is not clear how many people the beast killed or ate. But a study from 1987 estimates that it attacked around 160 people. 110 deaths and 50 injuries. The victims were often killed by having their throats ripped out
The beast’s first reported kill was a 14 year old girl named Jeanne Boulet. She was herding a group of sheep when she was attacked by the animal. Almost a month later a 15 year old girl was attacked. She was deadly wounded and passed away a while later. But with her last breath she described what attacked her as ‘a horrible beast’. Which it probably was considering the fact it killed already two people by that time. Well actually three. The people connected the dots and realised that the son of Yole, also herding a flock of sheep, had been killed in 1762. The only thing remaining from the boy was his partially eaten body.
There was also a girl who survived the attack. Again she was herding sheep. They made a protective circle around her, saving her life in the end.
In the following months the animal was known as the beast of Gévaudan. It got so bad that the authorities even asked for military assistance. Jean-baptise organised the hunt, which he said, had around 30 000 men.
The beast was spotted and got shit but escaped back into the forest. It seemed unharmed by the bullets.
Translation of the caption:
“Picture of the monster desolating the Gévaudan, This Beast is the size of a young Bull, it likes to attack Women and Children, it drinks their Blood, cuts off their Heads, and carries them off.”
(Picture and translation from : https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/the-beast-of-gevaudan-1764-1767/ )
Of course the love of the beast had to come to an end. It was shot by François Antoine which was them stuffed and put on display in Versailles.
I’m reality the beast was probably just a very big wolf or other canid. But no one knows for sure.
Have a great day and watch out for the beast. For it might still be at it’s original home
I’m kinda bored
So I’m going to talk about animals who have eaten humans
These animals are called ‘man-eaters’ and actually hunt for people. Of course a lot of man eaters are flesh eating animals. Because yea. Humans are made out of flesh
I’ll be talking about these few animals:
The beast of Gevaudan
The man eaters of Njombe
Kesagake the Sankebetsu bear
The leopard of Rudraprayag
The sloth bear of Mysore
The tigers of Chowgarh
The Tsavo man eaters
Man eaters of Kumaon
So yea, if you want to read about animals eating people, go ahead and wait here for a bit. If you want, you can read the meat eating horses post since it is quite similar to the other animals
Heyy i love your art style and i just wanted to see how you painted Caitlyn so *ohm* this is a request for Caitlyn

Wait a minute,
YOU AND AN1D10T ARE THE SAME PERSON?!
I feel stupid now.
Goodnight. I'm tired.
WAIT YOU DIDNT KNOW???
*Deep inhale*
Roly polies, pills bug, whatever you want to call them
ARE NOT INSECTS. THEY HAVE 14 LEGS
AND GILLS
THEY’RE CRUSTACEANS
AAAAG
Manatees. Damn manatees.
I love manatees
Because manatees are really peaceful animals. Like seriously. These animals decided to be absolutely adorable and even go up to divers for belly rubs
Yet we are the reason that they’re endangered.
People used to think that manatees were what we call sirens. That’s probably the reason why they fall under the order ‘Sirenia’.
And just look at him
Omg they can get old. Manatees live for around 50 to 60 years in the wild. If they don’t get killed by humans
The main reason manatees don’t really get hunted by sharks, killer whales or crocodiles is because the manatees prefers to be in shallow water
I can’t really find anything else about manatees
And I just wanted to do one single fact. I now officially love manatees
Have a good day.
Alright
Pigs are cute and all
(I’m going to be talking about some gross topics, including pig cannibalism, murder and complications with pigs)
But also kind of scary
Pigs don’t have the best eyesight and will eat anything edible. Even corpses
After pigs give birth they can sometimes push out some of their organs (of course other animals including humans). Which is called pelvic organ prolapse. This happens when the muscles and ligaments that support the pelvis stretch to much, causing the organs to drop down.
By any other animal you’d want to fixed very soon. Right?
Well by pigs you want this extra fast. That’s because the other pigs will attempt (and likely succeed) to eat the organs that are hanging out of the pig.
First time pig mothers might also attack their own young, leading to either severe wounds or death. The mother pig (sow) will probably eat the dead piglet after.
Like I said, pigs will eat anything. Including humans
There have been several deaths by pigs. I’ll tell you some:
In 2013 a 69 year old farmer was going to feed his pigs. He didn’t come back. When the family came to check on him in the pen they saw a horrible sight. The man’s dentures and some of his remains.
In 2019 a Russian woman fell into an epileptic emergency and got eaten alive
In 2015 a Romanian farmer died due to bloodloss after being attacked by his hogs
In 2014 a two year old child walked into a pig pen and was eaten
In 2013 a mob boss was still alive when he was fed to hogs by a rival family. People still whisper that they use those hogs to dispose of bodies
And there’s more
You guys see this animal?
Look at how fucking adorable it looks
Look at it’s ears
These are serval cubs. I wanna hug them. They don’t want to be hugged and will probably eat my face of if I get too close. But I love them
It’s in the family in the cat and has some domestic cat breeds. An adult can ranger from 54 to 62 cm from the shoulders to the ground. They weigh around 9 to 18 kilos
The serval has really good senses and is active day and night. It can jump atleast 2 meters from the ground to then land on their prey.
Several’s mate once or twice a year and carry the young for two or three months. After around 12 months the young will leave their mother to live for themselves.
I’ve already said that normally jump 2 meters, right?
Well they can jump like 3.6 meters in the air to catch birds mid flight
I have nothing more, just needed to share some
Why does he look so smug

I think Mother Nature was a bit high when creating this creature
I find this creature absolutely terrifying and I have unlocked new least favourite animal. This is the most terrifying thing I have ever seen.
As if I didn’t have enough reasons to kms already, now I have to live with the knowledge that I share a planet with this creature?
You also share a planet with these
Don’t kill yourself 👍
Hey
It’s spooky month
Have some spooky facts about
Horses✨
(Warning, I’m gonna talk about horse cannibalism and horses eating humans and other animals)
Okay, so we all know the big or small creatures called horses, right? Well, then you should know that they mainly don’t eat meat.
They in fact do. There have been reports of horses eating small animals and animal products.
The grim stories of the snowy mountains’ cannibal horses:
A few people (2 or 3) went into the mountains in Australia at Dead Horse Gap. When they came there they saw three horses ‘standing calmly’. When they looked closer they saw that the horses’ ribs were showing, they looked thin and their skin was sagging. They approached quietly and the horses did not move away. Then the people saw a 4th horse. Which was laying dead on the ground with two of the three horse nibbling on what was left of it’s organs.
There was a horse called ‘the man eater of Lucknow’. This horse went to India. After arriving in India it went on a rampage, slaying and eating several of the people living there. After the people captured the horse they forced it to fight a tiger. Now you might think ‘awe, the poor horse doesn’t stand a chance!’
He won. The horse won.
In Tibet horses were actually fed blood. This was because it was cold and there was not a lot of grass. The people fed the horses blood to make sure that they could still use the horses.
I am kind of scared of horses right now.

I fell off my bed at 3 am and continued to lay there for like an hour👍
Also, GOOOD MORNINGGGGGGG
CAN YOU DO ONE ABOUT TARANTULAS PLEASE
I LOVE THOSE FLUFFY SPIDERS
YESYSYEYYEYEYYSYEYSG
Now let’s start off, tarantulas are not monsters and rarely bite humans. They also around as venomous as most people think. Most people just think that because off, you guessed it, tv.
Fun fact: tarantulas get hunt by wasps. Those special wasps are called tarantula hawks and look so unbelievable cool.
So, there are a lot of species of tarantulas, around 900. They also really range in size and colour.
(Warning, pictures of spiders)
OKAYYY
Finally got enough time AND motivation for the
✨Narrow bordered bee-hawk moth✨
So basically that is a moth. It looks like a like that because of mimicry. This mimicry is called batesian mimicry (I’ve talked about this before) and, you guessed it, this moth is mimicking bees/wasps.
There are other animals who do this as well, like the hoverfly.
This species of moths is very similar to the broad bordered bee-hawk moth. They do look a bit different though
(The left one is a narrow-bordered bee-hawk moth)
Like you can see there’s a bit of a color difference. The body of the broad bordered also seems a little less thick and a little longer.
Now this moth is mostly active during the day (mid-morning to mid-afternoon) which is weird. Because you know, it’s a moth and not a butterfly.
Lets move onto it’s lifecycle.
So moths, including these moths, have four phases. Egg, larve (caterpillar), pupa and adult.
The eggs are laid under the leafs of scabious plants. The eggs take around 9 days to hatch. When they hatch the larvae (caterpillars) will develop from July to August. Then they will overwinter as pupa in a lose cocoon just below the surface. When they are adults they’ll fly from from mid May to mid June.
I sadly can’t find more but it’s just an adorable creature, so I hope you enjoyed and sorry for the delay!
Okokokok
So, I am going to talk about the bee moth tomorrow. But now it’s time
For this
This is a blind-worm or a slowworm. If that’s not the correct name, please tell me because I don’t know it.
Now I’m going to do a little test.
Please do this poll before reading the information:)
A slow worm is
A snake
A worm
A lizard
A salamander
In response to @an1d10t in the comments.
Here are the information I have have bundled up in a graph I just made.
While the poll was asking between the option A, B, C and D, I was wandering if option E could be the correct one.
Well hello! Thanks for not believing everything you see on the internet
But I do have to say, I’m pretty sure that they are leg less lizards. Pretty much every source says it.
And you are right but also wrong(?)
Basically I said ‘lizard’ because it is seen as one.
It just has other ‘classes.’ I’m pretty sure you already know but every animal has a phylum, class, order, ect. Like I said in the comment/reply
(yes, this is An1d10t, hello :)) I’m not too good at explaining.
As far as I can find anywhere, they are indeed legless amphibians and fall under Ceacilians, which is the common name. The scientific name for that is Gymnophiona.
Also, I have asked someone to ask my biology teacher. I’ll probably be getting the answer in around 3
