Kung fu cinema’s number one swordsman, Adam Cheng.
The Transporter (2002)
A rare clip Gordon Liu using monkey Kung fu. Taken from the old school tv show, Duel of Masters.
Trevor Goddard and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa on the set of Mortal Kombat (1995)
Chin Ka Lok in Martial Arts Master Wong Fei Hung (1991)
Some rare (and wonky) images from the Shaw Brothers swordplay gem, Bastard Swordsman (1983)
“If you slow it down, you can actually see thag John Wick isn’t firing real bullets! EMBARRASSING!”
If you’re being this nitpicky about a movie, you didn’t want to like the movie in the first place. Birds of Prey has fantastic fight choreography. It’s both complex, visually beautiful and it makes the characters look super strong. If you over-analyze any fight scene - whether it’s Birds of Prey or a Jackie Chan film - you’ll see visual goofs.
Another kung fu movie we’ll never get to see. Kung Fu Master Huo Yuan Jia is the latest martial arts film to be released directly to VOD platforms in China.
I’m sure these will end up online at some point (unsubbed) but it’s a shame it won’t be widely available because this shit looks great. Granted, they may have borrowed a move here and a gimmick there but the fight choreography looks pretty crisp.
If anyone ever finds a link, hit up your boy.
Stunt woman and martial arts actress, Shai Debroux, practicing Wing Chun trapping drills with her stunt man/fight choreographer boyfriend, Bryan Sloyer.
Sam Hargraves and Greg Remebter rehearsing the Cap vs Crossbones fight in Captain America: Civil War.
I had to post this clip as it contains the sickest burn in kung fu movie history.
Wait for it...
The Lama Avenger (1979)
Great pic. Bruce Leung (you might know him as the bad guy from Kung Fu Hustle) choreographing The Tattoo Connection (1978)
That’s Jim Kelly in the background on the left and Bolo Yeung towards he right.
