One of the sweet spots I got to visit in Melbourne was Welcome to Thornbury - an awesome dog-friendly courtyard with a permanent bar and different food trucks every night. An evening in the sun with a cold beverage and some good food.. definitely #movingtomelbourne worthy.

The Classic Geometric Pineapple.

My blog is dead. It had barely even started, and it was already dead. However, I’m going to change that. I am currently halfway through week 3 of a graphic design training package, and I thought what better way to document my progress/improvement than by posting my first attempts in the programmes. 

The first one, that you see above, is a geometric pineapple that I have created in Adobe Illustrator. I used a simple picture of a pineapple, lowered the opacity, traced over the main areas with the pen tool, then turned it into a live paint group and filled in all the triangular shapes I had created. I love this style, and I’m pretty impressed with how it came out.. So if this is what I’m starting with, I feel like there’s a lot more good stuff to come.

#51: Walk the sands of Santa Monica and Venice Beach

Accomplished: January 2012, August 2013 and May 2014

I am lucky enough to have completed this list entry not once, but three times, in my lifetime. The photos were taken at Santa Monica Pier in January 2012. I was on a Contiki tour, traveling the west coast of the USA, and embarking on my first big trip overseas. I love the beaches in LA, and when I saw these two characters it seemed only appropriate to capture their amazing vibrant feathers. Coincidentally, on both other visits these birds were still located at the pier. However I didn't get the opportunity to take some more pictures to add to my blog. Hindsight is 20/20. Nonetheless, I am proud of how these pictures turned out - mostly because I was situating on a double decker bus about 25 metres away at the time.
