the cadence of part times poets

the second marauders fic I’ve ever read, and the only one that will ever matter. everything I have ever read has never reached the emotional level this one has, and nothing else ever will, in my opinion. reading this was a wild ride of emotions; I became nostalgic for the 70s even though I didn’t exist for another 30 years, I laughed and I cried. this story was perfect, but not just in the literature sense. the emotions portrayed in this fic were what allowed it to cut deeper than any correct tense, conjugation and perfect grammar could ever do. reading that final chapter and the epilogue felt a little bit like a small piece of my heart breaking away, but a piece I know needed to be set free.

I know you probably wont see this, but I just know that you are the sort of person who goes out into the world and makes it that bit better. this story has changed my perspective of love and relationships for ever, and I believe I will carry a little part of these characters with me for a very long time. you said it perfectly. this story is for those who love music as much as remus, who are as kind as james, as wild as sirius and as dear as peter. lucky for me, I’m a little bit of them all. I hope to carry these parts of me forever. I aspire to be as loyal as remus, as passionate as sirius, as generous as james and as dedicated as peter. I strive to be as soulful as tonya and as protective as tomny. however, the ironic part of it all is that these characters are nowhere close to perfect. this, however, was the deciding factor that allowed them to become just that even more dear to me. life isn’t perfect, life isn’t easy, and you couldn’t have told it in a better way. you could have written these characters easily. could have given them no backstory, filled the story with fluff and prevented me from several nights spent crying like a pathetic loser. but you didn’t, and instead allowed so many people to see themselves in a character. i don’t know what i want or feel, just like remus. I care too much what others think, just like sirius (though he’d never admit it, the bloody idiot).

and I must admit, reading this story made me a little sad in a small part of my chest. I crave a love as deep and earth shattering as wolfstar’s, and it’s hard to believe I could ever experience something as powerful as their love. I read about lily and marlene and remus (yes he’s an honorary part of the girls in my mind) and mary and desire a deep platonic love like theirs. but if anything, this fic has shown me that love isn’t easy and shouldn’t be taken for granted. you must work for it, and you must give it back fully in return. and sometime, it takes seeing love through another’s eyes to see it more through your own.

sorry this got so long, but if motswolo can write 900 thousand words for us I can write a couple paragraphs. (also sorry if this makes no sense it’s the middle of the night)

so, to anyone who hasn’t read this fic yet, I implore you to RUN to ao3 right now, and to anyone who has, I’m sure you understand exactly what I’m talking about when I say all this. and to mot, thank you so so much.

never regretting watching this because I’ve highkey never seen better edits than ones in this fandom + i think im in love with jackie taylor…

Don’t get me wrong: I loved this show. The soundtrack? Perfect. The actors? Even better. The overall vibe and preface behind this whole show really appealed to me and I absolutely adored every character (however the fandom brushing over all the crazy and unforgivable stuff that happened pisses me off, like they’re not your baby angels they did eat their friends.) However, the downfall of this show really came in the execution. I’m not very picky, so I did really enjoy this show even as an avid horror-hater, but it wasn’t particularly a great show if that makes sense. In my opinion season 1 was the best, it was extremely unsettling when you were less aware of what was happening and when the stuff like Lottie’s possession, Tai’s ‘friend in the window’ and then Jackie’s death at the end gave you a shock. This was the peak of the show, however while the rest wasn’t as grabbing, I was still astounded by just how insane it got. Them eating Jackie had my face half hidden behind my hands, I must admit… Overall, while I grade this a ‘perfect show’ by any means, me personally as a teenage girl adored the characters, the soundtrack WAS to die for and I am very excited for season 4 (I also wanna piece of that ella purnell sophie thatcher pie please). Salut.

yeah maybe im yaoi biased but this show was a masterpiece completely worth the hype (no offence off campus but you could never…). everything about this show just like captured me, but the SOUNDTRACKKKKKK ugh sigh crying throwing up. scene mentions: i need you, all the things she said, ILL BELIEVE IN ANYTHING, i love you and i can’t remember any more. but yeah I finished the whole season in like 2 days when I should’ve been studying so that says something. connor and hudson btw, phenomenal actors wtf. i always assumed this show was just sucking dicks and two men fucking or whatever (and it kinda was and i kinda ate it up) but the deeper aspects and the way their relationships shifted and just the true beauty of a love like that hit me hard. gave me heaps of courage too, maybe one day ifykwim. highly recommend, i need season 2 right fucking now feed me the angst but in the meantime ao3 is waiting for me with open arms.

off campus (tv with ev)

finished off campus today, saw so much hype about it and had to watch it so here we are.

my rating: 6.5/10

don’t get me wrong, very very cute loved the vibes etc etc HOWEVER there were some like major put offs for me idk. HOWEVER: here’s what I did like. #1 - allie and dean. holy SHIT name a hotter couple?? allie genuinely took my breath away every time she was on screen and the fucking dance floor scene? shoot me. I actually think the plot was quite interesting, i liked how each character had their own struggles and #loveovercameallstruggles. butttt moving on. first of all the FUCKINH COLOURING.i wanted to cry. I am so so fucking sick of this normalized, heartless high contrast unauthentic colouring it just gives me the ick the instant I see it in a show sorry not sorry. also I did NOT need to be flashed in the last episode. fuck no. I found hannah could have been a great character but instead her actor and acting kinda pmo and she was just kinda unlikable. none of the actors were that great but it was overall not terrible, pretty buzzy and still an entertaining watch nevertheless.
