this is so true though because back when it first got popular children would follow him on the street making raven sounds until he turned around and shouted ‘nevermore’ at them and they’d giggle and disperse.

also once it got a bit More popular, people started making spinoffs almost. The Bird, The Cat, The Bear etc. there became so many that at one point there was a bit of confusion as to which was the original, and who wrote it

another fun fact is that he literally only made $9 off of this poem despite it being his most popular work
