Columbia’s Harry Styles has announced that his hotly anticipated debut single will be titled “Sign of the Times,” 30 years after Prince released his album Sign O’ The Times on 3/30/87. He made his announcement via social media around 8am ET today. The artwork was unveiled as well. The five-minute opus, which has been likened to Queen and other big British rock of the ‘70s, goes wide to all DSPs on 4/7; the former One Direction heartthrob’s album—produced by Jeff Bhasker—is expected to follow soon thereafter.

All of it, it’s hard to… favorite thing, this is gonna sound really silly, anytime like he can do something new, I know he’s not a dog but like for example he’s just started taking his first few steps which is like nothing else! But before that, the first time he was a little bit like vocal, that was super tight, so I think it’s constantly changing. The whole thing is super cool.

low-key can’t understand this idea that some people seem to have that just because we don’t see pics or videos of them, it means that Harry’s dropped all of his friends and doesn’t care about them anymore. It’s just another excuse to talk about how shitty Harry is, how fame changed him and what an ungrateful person he is.

Harry:

–Tweeted Niall about his song publically. No minor thing considering his SM silence.

–Went to the X Factor to support Louis after Jay’s death.

–Sang his heart out during Xmas kareoke with the London crew.

–Has annual pub/video game/cozy reunions with his childhood friends.

–Had a chill day/Netflix/dinner with Nick who, might I add, JUST LOST HIS FATHER. So you know. At least fucking fake being a decent human being about gryles.

–Literally became the first mega client to his best friend/manager, showing immense trust in Jeff and their partnership.

–And I know ppl are petty assholes about this, but he was still friendly with Taylor and Kendall post public breakup, despite what you may or may not believe about the nature of those relationships.

Honestly, in all these years, the *only* person Harry did an abrupt and public about-face to is Zayn. And yet, even then, wasn’t there a rumor of Harry emailing/reaching out to him?

Whatever. Point is that as much as Harry hops between friend groups and basks in attention, he gives it back in spades and has compassion/loyalty when it counts the most. He seems to have his priorities in order just fine.

- Dedicated one of his most important projects, the Another Man issue, to Matt Irwin, showing that he had such a deep bond with him, despite of people accusing him over and over again of not caring about Matt’s death just because he didn’t tweet about how sad he was.

May I also add that, perhaps the reason we don’t “see” as much of him publicly hanging out with his friends anymore is because “fans” are absolutely ridiculous about anyone and anything Harry is seen doing? If he hangs out with a female, he’s automatically dating her and they hate her. If he hangs out with people in LA, people think he’s hanging out with a bad crowd. He can’t even go out without being criticized about what he’s wearing anymore! I don’t blame him for choosing to spend time with friends privately!

No one talks about all of the wonderful things he does for friends and fans alike, behind the scenes. How many stories have we heard about Harry being the nicest, kindest, most generous person to anyone he comes across, even if he’s busy or out with family? Why does no one focus on that? Why do you choose to nitpick every single thing he does? What kind of fan does that make you?
