Haider Ackermann A/W13 by Lea Colombo
I need feminism. Today is that day of the year in Québec where we remember those who have fallen under the weapon of Marc Lépine, a self-proclamed anti-feminist, 25 years ago. On December 6th, 1989, Lépine entered a classroom of Polytechnique, a prestigious engineering school of Montréal, and asked all the men to leave. He told the women they didn’t belong there, and that he’d kill them for being feminists. Let us not forget the names of those women : Geneviève Bergeron Hélène Colgan Nathalie Croteau Barbara Daigneault Anne-Marie Edward Maud Haviernick Barbara Klucznik-Widajewicz Maryse Laganière Maryse Leclair Anne-Marie Lemay Sonia Pelletier Michèle Richard Annie St-Arneault Annie Turcotte Many events will take place today in Montréal, if you’re around.
