it's funny how many folks seem to view luvivi as a bland vanilla het ship with traditional hero-and-damsel dynamic when these two canonically spent half the time they had together being frustrated with each other's brand of leadership inability to not fight for the people under their protection

not to mention like... the Luffy vs Vivi fight was RIGHT THERE. proof that she really pissed him off in a way no one else ever did and vice versa cause what the fuck was that fight really. Luffy at his most verbose, Vivi falling into a level of scrappy violence even her younger self didn't dare initiate. a full-blown fistfight in the middle of the desert because he didn't want her to die for her people and because she didn't want him and his crew to die for her. easily one of their most charged scenes with a character of the opposite gender and nothing has come close to it, not even with casts of post-timeskip arcs, because no one else has inspired this type of reciprocity from Luffy or Vivi ever since

and that's just one example among many! the story used to put great care in framing Luffy and Vivi as unlikely equals and there are plenty textual evidences to back that up. regardless of shipping, it's funny how some fans would forget this and claim these two are just your run-of-the-mill 'hotheaded shonen protag meets soft-spoken female supporting character' dynamic when they're very much a subversion of that trope
