“ SORRY ALANA. ” the girl says as she reads one last line in her book before flipping it close, and looking up at the other with a sincere smile. “ i just have a big final going on, i planned on finishing the chapter before you got here but i guess time slipped my mind. ” she grabbed the text book and slipped it into her backpack, making sure the girl knew that she wasn’t going to be studying anymore. “ i am excited for break, are you busy around that time? we should go out, maybe hit up a few pubs while i’m free. ”

“ I’M SORRY, I’M SORRY. ” she repeats herself as she finishes highlighting something in her textbook. “ and your coffee was free since i paid for it, but you’re right and i’m sorry. i just have a test coming up for one of my classes and i’m kind of stressed. my head’s been in the book all day, but i promise i’m all yours now. i know this isn’t an official meeting but i wanted to check in. see how you’re doing. ”

EMI HAD WATCHED it all happen, maryse might have thought she didn’t care, but the truth was that she just wasn’t fazed by it anymore. it didn’t rain nearly as much in korea as it did in london, but she had grown accustomed to it all those years go. but here maryse was, upset that she got a bit of rain water on her. “ maybe you should have dressed properly ” emi said, looking down at her rain boots that shielded her enough from the rain water — some splatter on her jeans. “ it’s just water, maryse. not the end of the world. ”

emi was born in korea and came to england when she was 8 years old because her dad’s job got relocated

it was always her, her mom and her dad growing up and for the most part they were a happy family but they weren’t super close and emi was always allowed to do her own thing

she is fluent in both korean and english and conversationally in french

she currently in school to become a therapist and is doing clinical's so she has clients while working with her mentor, but her mentor isn’t at all her meetings

she was dating someone from the end of high school until the beginning of college and they broke up. he met someone else and got engaged, since they were still friends she got invited to the wedding
