Hello friends! This is Eddie again, bringing a much less sociable and kind character in Jihye. She’s a Wednesday Addams wannabe with a big chip on her shoulder who rarely speaks to people unless it’s sarcastic comments. So she’s fun lmao This one’s a little more rambly than Mason’s I think so good luck getting through it but I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read it <3

Before we get to Jihye, we have to talk about her sister.
born in 1993, Kim Woori was born to a makeup mogul mother and a VP of marketing at a very famous restaurant chain
With a silver spoon in her mouth and never a want for anything, Woori took dance classes and longed to be a kpop star
With her striking visuals and her dance skills and her parents pulling some strings, Woori was signed on with Wonder Nation and soon debuted as a member of TAG
In TAG, she was the Maknae, Lead Dancer, and Visual
Once TAG disbanded, Woori went on to be a model and the face of her mothers make up company. You can still see her face all around Seoul in advertisements, mainly for lip products
Now, onto Jihye
Jihye was born in 2003, ten years after Woori and was a complete surprise to her parents, both thinking they were too old to conceive again
She was four when her sister debuted, so all of a sudden going from a baby sister to an only child was a strange thing for baby Jihye. She loved Woori so much as a kid, and to suddenly only be able to see her on the TV was a painful shock
but, the show must go on.
START TW
Jihye’s mother is a borderline narcissist, undiagnosed. She constantly flip flops between being the kindest, most supportive, best mother in the world to completely mental.
whenever Jihye would do something she wouldn’t approve of, she would compare her to Woori, only growing the resentment from Jihye towards her big sister
the epitome of “gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss,” but not always in the good way. To the outside world, she’s simply a powerful woman who knows what she wants, but to Jihye, she can be cruel and heartless, leading Jihye to completely shut down whenever she’s around.
All of this eventually built up inside Jihye and led her to hate her mother and her father for allowing the behavior to continue. She’s never officially told either of them off yet because she can’t support herself on her own, but the second she has enough money to, hoo boy
END TW
Jihye started off as a pretty normal little girl, happy and sweet, until she was put in school. Constantly being reminded of the sister that “abandoned” her broke her down and brought out a cynic, a scowling mess who would snap back at anyone who tried to compare the two, including teachers.
She had to transfer schools twice before she finally calmed down enough to get her shit together. Still, people stopped mentioning Woori to her.
She didn’t make many friends, preferring to be alone a lot of the time. She took refuge in her books, her drawing, her guitar, and her singing.
As much as she wished she didn’t at times, she loves singing and she truly wants to be a performer. But, she knew she wasn’t the dancer that her sister was. She wanted to just write songs and perform them, but she knew the best way to get her music and herself out there would be going down the same route that her sister did as an idol.
she considered auditioning for Wonder Nation, knowing her name would probably give her a better shot, but she didn’t want to be that connected to Woori. Still. when she got a call from Starlight, she figured that was far away enough from her and hopped on board.
her sister always had either red hair or black, so in order to distance herself further from Woori, Jihye went silver (even though black would fit her personality best and save her money)
because of her mother and her never ending access to makeup, Jihye has always had a crazy amount of skill when it came to doing her own face. Perfect cat eye liner, exceptionally applied lipsticks, she can nail it every time. She’s trying to reclaim herself through makeup a bit, trying to prove that her sister isn’t the only one who can look incredible.
is beautiful and knows it, but has a complicated relationship with her looks. She wants people to see her as pretty (especially prettier than her sister), but she also doesn’t want to have pretty privilege or only get successful in the idol industry because of it? She’d be fine being a visual, obviously, but she wants to be seen as talented too? So she’s arrogant and insecure at the same time, it’s confusing inside her head.
demiromantic demisexual, doesn’t have the words for it. She’s had crushes on girl friends before so she knows she’s not straight but she’s never said anything like that out loud. I’d just love to see her fall for someone who actually gets her to open up, I’m just not sure what kind of person is going to do that yet but if you’re interested and think your muse might work hmu? also super open to a long term enemies to lovers plot if anyone has the patience for it with me? lmao
is teaching herself english through song lyrics and online videos. She’s very basic, but the english songs she really loves have beautiful lyrics translated so she wants to understand them properly. Plus, she wants to write a song that her (hopefully) debuted group can perform, and she knows in kpop there has to be some english. So, she’s learning. She could use some help though, if she could only ever ask for it lol wanted plot??
very big “leave me alone” energy but secretly wants more friends she just doesn’t want to deal with people help?
the words “im sorry for her” will be in the tags with her interactions a LOT
This is a MESS omg but hopefully it gives you a sense of what Jihye will be like and how hard she will be for your characters to deal with lmao but I’m really excited to throw her at people becauseif you need more conflict in your character’s life, hmu! XD
