many canon events are written horribly and out of character for the al ghuls. i will be adding this post to the pinned. anyone who approaches me with evil talia will be blocked. its the one comics thing i can't stomach or tolerate. i love the al ghuls so much that they will get the respect in this space.

OOOOO!! That's a great question!

For some context, David Cain and Lady Shiva are Cass' parents. David was trained under one of Ra's assassin networks. Shiva was trained by David when he realized her sister was holding her back from being the best.

Both parents trained Cass to be Ra's bodyguard, so I can only assume she knew what Ra's expected. And he only expects the best. But we all know the outcome of that.

I would say... hm... Ok. Cass is the best fighter in the Batfam because of David. And David is the best because of Ra's aiding him with all his resource.

It's kinda hard to say who would win. Since Ra's has centuries of experience and has the demon upgrade from taking a dive in baja blasts, it would be a tie most of the time. His fighting style was passed onto David, which he passed onto Cas.

Equally matched. Let's just say that.

please don't mistake silence for hatred. please don't mistake unanswered plotting messages as indifference, or a lack of enthusiasm towards you. considering the ages of most roleplayers, many of us have bills to pay, families to take care of, medical conditions to treat, appointments to make, classes to take, homes to clean, and lives to live away from the computer that are far, far more important than writing on tumblr — life has a tendency to get in the way of hobbies and fun things like this. be patient with your fellow writers. if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. of course you can set your boundaries, keep your space comfortable, and softblock whoever you wish, but do so while recognizing it's probably not hatred or apathy that keeps them from leaping into your dms with message after message. they probably love this hobby just as much as you... but sometimes life gets in the way.

"what's more important is your progress, my dear grandson. you are too far behind in your history studies. i suppose you were given more breaks than allowed. so, for the time being, i will be taking over. now sit. we have many periods in time to go over."

he took a seat next to damian. eyeing his writing with distaste. by the age of 4, ra's knew how to read and write in ancient languages nearby as he traded medicine for supplies and favors. here damian was, at the age of 6, misspelling a logographic character called hanzi.

"correct it." he sternly ordered.

when his young grandson didn't answer fast enough, ra's pulled out a handcarved, flat bamboo stick and slammed it onto damian's small hands.

"correct it." he ordered again. thankfully, he didn't have to hit damian a second time as the boy quickly fixed it.

"do you see why we must not take breaks? you wrote 毒 dú, meaning poison, when you should have written 每 měi, meaning every/each." he scolded yet again. "speak of poison, which emperor the founding father of Chinese agriculture and traditional herbal medicine?"

again, damian took too long to answer, so ra's raised his stick again in hopes the boy would learn. pain is humanity's greatest teacher, and he needed damian to remember it.

the whole "you live because i let you" that ra's always says is because he lived around the 7th century, which is a whole 1,326 to 1,425 years ago. he fought for countless tribes, nations and their stupid wars. he learned every single torture method invented.

so this man, when he says you're at his mercy, i can understand why people fear him. he doesn't hesitate. he doesn't speak. he acts.

sending his assassins instead of going himself speaks volumes. he's not interested in small threats. he goes for the big ones himself.
