“I am, Estelle. But honestly, except staying in bed, I haven’t much to do. So I guess thinking about the important things won’t hurt.”
He smiled, rubbing the princess’s hand. Something still seemed to bother her, but not the same way it did before. He couldn’t move too much if he wanted his injury to heal fast, but he hoped he could at least comfort her a little.
Yet, she suggested a period that would go from spring to autumn - most of the year, then. Zelos thought about it for a few minutes, before having a stupid idea. She would probably never accept it, but he wanted it to be special.
“That’s cliché. Let’s marry in winter. Under the falling snow.”
The idea would probably seem stupid, but that was a period when nobody married, and it would make the day even more special. Plus, it’d show the Zaphian princess was an open-minded person.
“The best would be if anyone could come to the ceremony, but I guess they won’t let non-noble people attend it, huh…”
He particularly thought about his friends. His part of the deal wouldn’t be a problem, but he wasn’t sure the council would approve that its princess’s groom brought people who weren’t from their social classes.
“Huh, yes, I guess you’re right... Fine, let’s talk about it.”
To be honest, if she had been herself in bed for days, she would probably read till she could stand. Of course, she knew people weren’t like her and, really, it was a pity, but thinking about important things, even her own marriage, was a little bit annoying.
“In winter...?” She repeated, astonished. “But I thought that you...” She stopped, tilted her head and continued: “Are you sure in winter is fine? I mean... I know you don’t like winter, you always told me you dislike it. So...Winter will be perfect for me, but think about you too.”
Estelle didn’t know why Zelos disliked winter and she hoped that, one day, he would tell her. She wouldn’t force him, it was useless and she was too respectful for that.
“Of course they’ll accept it! They have to accept it! And if they don’t want, then I’ll ask Ioder for help!”
There was no way that her friends, who were all non-nobles, couldn’t attend her wedding! Maybe she would talk about it to Ioder before even asking the Council, to be sure to have his support.
