My house is full of charity shop books. Second hand board games. All sorts of stickers everywhere. Strobe and fairy lights. Even a lava lamp. Porcelain figurines. Wooden tchotchkes. Shiny rocks. Polished seashells. Funkos. Discount lego flowers and all sorts of other imitation building blocks. Post cards. Silly wall art. Plants of all shapes and sizes. There's colour, and joy, and soul, in every single room. Scented candles that make it smell like cake. Folk patterned cushions and blankets. Trinket boxes that hold snacks. Cute plushies to snuggle with wherever you sit. And you know what? Everywhere I look, my home makes me smile. It makes me so so so happy. So I will never reject the brightness, the childishness, the freedom of it all. I will never be ashamed for my care bear stickers, or my lego spaceship, or my legolas funko, or my bold n' brash painting, or my ladybug pillow, or my paleta payaso, or my sesame street pijamas, or my snorlax tshirt, or my fluffy cow slippers. Even when I turn 31 this summer. Because cringe isn't real. Neither is shame. I decide, whether I want to hold onto them or whether I wish to let go. Because at the end of the day, the only thing I actually want to keep, is love, for all the things I enjoy, all the things that make me happy, all the things that bring colour to my home, and actually make it a place worth not simply existing, but truly living in.

reading a lot as a child saved my life and shaped who I am as a person. I literally would not be where I am today without it. so even though I don’t read that much as an adult now, it will always be an important part of who I am

it is so important that you are a little bit ugly. please get comfortable with having unplucked eyebrows and nonexistent jawlines and wrinkles. let your blue hair grow out into an uneven pale green and your clothes be old and mend them and modify them until they’re unique to you. wear lipstick which doesnt compliment your skintone and mismatched outfits which went out of fashion 5 years ago. be a little bit too loud and a little bit too passionate and as weird as you can be because oh my god there is nothing more disturbing to me than perfection. beauty is manufactured and sold to us and you need to realise that you are a fucking animal to live a joyful life I am so serious. you cant obsess over aesthetics forever please just live messily and make your body your home however you please.

if you dont do it for you, do it for all the teenagers who will see u in the street and know that they are not obligated to be attractive
