Trick or treat~!
HERE YOU GO SWEETIE!~
Um, hello?
Hi? Is this thing on?
I guess I should start...?
Hi! My name is Colette, and maybe you know me?
I heard that today was a wonderful festival where we give out sweet things to people, so I brought something for everyone!
Please enjoy!
The redhead mundane slipped into the twin of Colette's room. She had to do this just perfect, picking up the flowers she put them there, and signed in scribble, much to look like Lloyds "With Love.. I thought these would suit you.." She giggled, it wasn't a horrible prank, but Lloyd would have to explain HOW he broke into her room, she grinned and took off quickly.
[[!!!]]
"Flowers?" Colette said aloud, noticing them when she entered.
He, that's nice! She picked them up, and looked down when the note fluttered to the floor. She picked it up too, smiling when she saw it was signed by the hand of one of her closest friends; he was obviously trying to make her feel better. So nice of him to-
...Eh??
Colette's eyes widened. She looked around quickly, but of course there was no one there.
She tried to calm herself. It was just Lloyd, he didn't really pay attention to what he wrote! Surely he was just making a quick present for her and wasn't thinking too hard about what he put down.
Or, well, he didn't sign his name. Maybe she wasn't supposed to know.
There was really only one way to make sure, Colette admitted to herself, taking it all in her hands. It would probably be best to ask him. Or get him to admit it.
Slowly nodding her head at the blond she chuckled lightly, “Hmm, actually I’ve been to a lot of places I’ve never even known, same with the people.” She paused a bit tapping her chin lightly. Before giving a small mischievous little grin at Colette, “And I’ve seen a lot of familiar faces. I’ve seen, Seles, Zelos, Sheena, Raine … and Lloyd~” Her grin grew a little brighter with a little twinkle in her eyes, already knowing what it was that Colette was asking about.
“I see …” Marta tilted her head a bit to the side scratching at her chin, “Sounds a bit boring actually.” She replied honestly, the brunette hadn’t always had a good relationship with the Church of Martel but—”But it isn’t the same as actually traveling around you know.” The teen insisted with a hand on her hip.
"Hehe, I've done a lot of traveling already," Colette reminded the younger girl with a serene, genuine smile. "If the best thing I can do to help right now is helping the priests help other people, and lay low for a while, then I'm happy to do it. I really like being able to think about just spending time at home, helping in little ways." It was true. Colette loved the feeling of choosing of her own accord to spend as many days as she wanted doing real good.
"But, I'm really glad for you that you're enjoying yourself so much," she told Marta earnestly. "Traveling around and meeting new people is great!" Her smile wavered, rippling into an expression of nostalgia as she blinked away, briefly avoiding Marta's knowing gaze. "Is everyone else just as happy?"

“Your journey is very close to completion. I do not know what has inspired you to return to this place, but that is not pertinent. Hurry to the last seal, and become a true angel in that distant land.” Perhaps he shouldn’t be so stern, but that seemed to be an effective method. Then again, everything had become a little more complicated when he started playing along the part of father. He led them on with that idea as a joke initially. It amused him how literally they took the legend of the angels bearing the Chosen one. However, every so often, he would find himself thinking of her like she actually was somehow his child. He really should stop that.
“Iselia…” pondered Virginia. It wasn’t a place or even a name she recognized. How had she gotten here? Where was here? There were rumors of another world, but she couldn’t see how she could possibly be there. Aside from which, how would she care for Raine here? And what about the other baby? It was hard enough to raise a child while pregnant with her husband’s help, but out here with people she didn’t know in a place she’d never been… Where was Kloitz?
Colette swallowed. Hearing those words flooded her with emotion. It had been almost triumphant, thinking she could at least heal the world with her sacrifice. And realising that she had almost lost everything in a pointless cycle of violence and fear petrified her when she found herself thinking it late at night. But the people of Sylvarant had no idea- and hearing the angel's admonishment, she remembered how disappointed and afraid they were when they found out she had abandoned her duty. Colette took a breath, trying to think of what Lloyd would say, and she looked at the otherworldly being's face.
"...Lord Remiel? Please... tell me the truth about this journey. What does it mean? Why must I release the seals? How will this help everyone?" She folded her hands in front of her, clasping them tightly and hoping she didn't waver. "Why... why must I suffer," she asked, her voice breaking and dropping as she looked down.
Casting her gaze around, the corner of her eye caught Virginia. The woman looked distraught.
"Can I help you?" She asked with real sincerity.
/人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ contract?
"Huh? Contract? Um, do you want me to sign something?"
Colette knelt down to examine the strange creature, and cocked her head curiously.

“Oh!” Colette started back when she saw who it was. She clasped her hands together and, realizing she was biting her lip, took a breath.
“…Welcome!”
“I am glad to find you again, my beloved daughter.”
“Hello. If you don’t mind, where are we?”
"...Lord Remiel. It's been a while. I-is there something I can do for you?" Colette's heart was hammering inside her chest. Every time she had seen the messenger of heaven, it had brought her nothing but pain. And though she tried very hard to conceal it and remain respectful, she wanted to run or scream or do something to remind the world that she controlled her own fate and her own body.
She could almost feel the air suck out of her lungs in surprise when she saw who he was accompanied by, and her thoughts raced to recall the last time she had seen Virginia. "Um, you're near the village of Iselia," Colette said gently.
"Oh! Hello everyone, I'm so sorry I didn't see you there. Is there something I can do for you?"
“Oh, I’m so glad you’re good!” Colette stepped back. “Please don’t worry about me though, okay?” She grinned at her friend and cocked her head. “Come to think of it, I should be worrying about you! What’ve you been up to?”
Marta huffed stubbornly, but couldn’t stop herself from laughing. “Well if you should be worrying about me then I believe I should be worrying about you, right~?” The brunette quickly winked at the girl while crossing her arms over her chest, before answering her. “Hmm, nothing much really. Just wondering and visit places I’ve yet to…” The brunette sighed a bit while saying this. “Anyways, what have you been up to?”
"When you put it that way, I guess you're right, hehe," Colette conceded to the other girl with a guilty grin. "Where else have you been already? Have you seen anyone or anything neat?" Have you run into anyone else, she asked silently to herself. "As for me, I guess I haven't really been up to that much. I've mostly been helping around the Martel Temple. I'm still learning a lot from the priests. Sometimes I get asked to travel around a little bit and visit places!"
“Okay, Deity.” It wasn’t her business to ask about his incredibly curious name; if he wanted to tell her, he would, and she wouldn’t pry. She turned around. “Well, where we are now is near a village named Iselia. There’s a desert to the south, east is a forest… and, um, to the north is the Martel Temple!”
“….Interesting. I would like to take a look around your village…if you don’t mind.” He proposed to the blonde as he begun walking in the direction of the small village on his own.
"Oh! Um, okay, sure." Colette scurried to catch up with him. "It's not a really big town, but it is our home and it's where I grew up."
The gates were open to the village of Iselia. It was a warm day, nonthreatening, and the mood of the inhabitants seemed relatively placid.
Times like these were something that were a lot more appreciated now after their journey had ended. To think that Colette was willing to throw this away, with her life, to save the world…He held her tighter.
Their childhood was something that they often conversed about. That trip down memory lane was a pleasant one.
“Yeah, back then,” he replied, already feeling the nostalgia rolling in. “Though, I remember playing with Genis a lot more because we thought we were so manly.” He laughed at the observation, seeing as though their definition of manly was running around dangerous areas with sticks as weapons.
Colette clapped her hands and nodded, laughing in return.
“And every day after school, we used to all play while Genis waited for the Professor!…” Her laughter faded as she looked away. She sighed with nostalgia. “Then I started going to the Temple every day, and it was just you and Genis. Even though I was busy, you still tried to include me! But… it was just the two of you.” Colette turned to look at Lloyd. “I guess that’s when you guys started playing in the forest, huh?”
“And now, I’m not really being the Chosen anymore, so I can see you guys again! But Genis is off at school studying, and… you’re helping your dad.”
“That sounds about right,” he replied with a nod. “I felt so bad for you. You never had any time to play with us and being at the temple looked like such a drag.”
Lloyd looked down at the angel and softly nuzzled her. “We’re all off doing our own thing, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have time for you,” he said in response to her second statement.
It was true. If Lloyd could put the whole world aside to save Colette, he was sure that he could fit time into his schedule for some quality cuddling time.
"It wasn't so bad! I mean, I was preparing for my duty as the Chosen, that's all." She spoke lightly; she had no malice for her the Chosen's duty and her destined end. It was a part of her life, for better or for worse. And it had given her purpose, in a strong way. "It's not like that's your fault, and you made it a lot easier for me."
Colette leaned into Lloyd, smiling happily at the contact. She didn't want him to feel guilty or worry about her at all. But, she did like knowing that he cared- and if he seemed happy, there was nothing she could say. She nestled further into Lloyd, putting her own arm around him as well.
"You don't have to make time for me... I don't mind waiting," she said quietly.
“Oh, it’s no problem. My name is Colette,” Colette offered brightly. She hesitated for a moment, looking at him. “Um, what do you want me to call you?”
“….Call me Deity.” He answered simply, waiting for her to show him around.
"Okay, Deity." It wasn't her business to ask about his incredibly curious name; if he wanted to tell her, he would, and she wouldn't pry. She turned around. "Well, where we are now is near a village named Iselia. There's a desert to the south, east is a forest... and, um, to the north is the Martel Temple!"
luke-of-the-abyss started following you
“Kimlasca? I’ve never even heard of it before. You must be from very far away! What’s it like?”
“Well Kimlasca is a pretty big country with lots of people. I’m from the capital, Baticul. It’s gotten to be a lot better of a place for people of all classes due to the work that my cousin, Princess Natalia has done. She’s gone around and built hospitals and other things for the people so she’s a well loved princess by the people.”
"That's amazing! I can't imagine what it's like to grow up in a big city. Your cousin sounds like a truly wonderful person. ...Oh! If she's a princess, what does that make you?"
“Oh, I’d be happy to show you around, if that’s what you want,” she said with an easygoing smile. Colette didn’t act like the stranger’s manner fazed her- she had met enough people to feel comfortable being friendly. She wasn’t looking for trouble, but she knew if it foudn her she could handle herself.
“….Thank you.” He complimented in a dry tone, seeming as if he was grateful, but not grateful at the same time. He turned back to the blonde, having a thought in mind; it seemed to be common for humans do give their names as a way of properly starting a relationship with each other.
“….Your name?” He asked vaguely.
"Oh, it's no problem. My name is Colette," Colette offered brightly. She hesitated for a moment, looking at him. "Um, what do you want me to call you?"
“Marta! Okay, I will, I’m sorry.” Colette realized what she said and waved her hands in front of her. “Oh no, I said it! I’m sorry!” She smiled sheepishly and caught the younger girl in a greeting hug. “I’m okay. How are you?”
The teen laughed as Colette began to stumble over her words, continuing her numerous unnecessary apologies. Giggling towards the other she placed a gloved white hand on her shoulder and smiled, “It’s okay, it’s okay.” A sight slipped past Marta, an innocent on. Before she could say anything more the blond eventually embraced her causing the other to do the same. “I’m glad to hear that! I was slightly worried for you, and I’m doing great~!”
"Oh, I'm so glad you're good!" Colette stepped back. "Please don't worry about me though, okay?" She grinned at her friend and cocked her head. "Come to think of it, I should be worrying about you! What've you been up to?"
