what do we put in the character box? i've noticed thet you're using solo: character but in most exchanges i've done thise go in the relationship box. is it different for this? thank you

We are using Solo: Character for the Character box (though you may also use it in the relationship box if you have more than ten characters you'd like to nominate)!

question about the tag signing up, are we supposed to fill in the form for every fandom separately? because currently I can only submit characters once even in different fandom fields, like if I submit Squiddo under Lifesteal I can't under Unstable, is that intentional?

Hello! You should be able to submit the same character under different fandoms, however you can't use the canonical tags. We ask that you clarify the fandom after the character.

Eg.: You would put TheRealSquiddo (LifeSteal) under your LifeSteal fandom and TheRealSquiddo (Unstable SMP) under your Unstable SMP fandom. This should fix your problem.

Please note that even though it's not mentioned in the spreadsheet, VBRPF, as well as any other mcyt fandom- no matter whether it's included in the spreadsheet or not, is allowed!

HeartSteal Rules

Please note that these rules contain both the rules of the event and the rules of the discord server. This is due to the fact that joining the discord server is mandatory for anyone who wants to participate in the event.

1. No harassment, bigotry or doxxing of any kind. If you are found to be harassing other people, in or out of the events, depending on the severity of the case and the moderators' own discretion, you will be either banned or kicked.

2. Per Discord's and Tumblr's TOS, you have to be 13 or over to participate.

3. Please censor gore and anything else that could potentially be triggering. This can be done by putting || around your words, or pressing the eye button when posting an image. Additionally, make sure to warn of what the spoiler is about- eg. (needles) |needle mention|.

4. No NSFW or minor x adult relationships. Both in server or in your exchange works. For everything else in terms of the exchange works, we run on a DL;DR (as long as your giftee is comfortable with receiving it).

5. If someone asks you to stop talking about something that triggers them/makes them uncomfortable, please do. Even if you think it may be silly, it's not silly to them.

6. Similarly, make sure all of your content has the appropriate warnings clearly attached. Nobody likes an unwanted surprise.

7. No sharing personal information that can be used to doxx you. The most we'll allow is stating whether you're an adult or a minor, as we are aware that some people have preferences on who can DM them. Anything more specific is going to be deleted and you'll be given a warning. Remember that you don't know everyone here, and you can't always be certain of their intentions.

8. The use of AI is completely banned.

9. In channels with specific topics, please keep to said channel topics and don't spam. If you find a conversation is moving off topic, feel free to move to one of the general chats or take it to DMs.

10. If you find yourself having an issue with another member of the server, or any issue in general feel free to reach out to one of the mods directly, open a ticket or ask to speak with us in , we're all happy to help!

11. Please try to avoid talking about current real life events, as these conversations tend to become very serious and some people may be here to escape from such things.

How would the mechanics of this event work? Can you defend against attacks, or is it possible for 5 people on the same team to attack you in one day and get you out all at once?

Hi! There is no way to defend against attacks, however you can take your heart back by attacking another person. In addition, during the first two weeks you'll only be able to get attacked thrice during the same week in order to make sure people don't get targeted and taken out of the event early.

is this meant to be centered mostly around Lifesteal or also other smps?

This event is open to all SMPs, not just LifeSteal!

Will there be a few sections dedicated to roleplay within the server?

Hi! This isn't a roleplay dedicated event, however we will likely have a channel where people who wish to roleplay can make threads.

Who’s the wonderful host of this event and will there be mod applications? Or have mods already been decided? :)

Hello! This event is being hosted by our lovely team of mods consisting of: @astronautbeans, @its-a-me-chaosthedragon, @hey-its-celeste, @di-diwata, @foxkatfive and @fea28!

There are currently no plans to hold mod applications or add more mods to our current team, however we will do so if we deem additional moderators necessary!

Info regarding creative works

The HeartSteal event accepts all mediums of art, as long as they follow the rules of the event! However, in order to ensure all participants are satisfied with their gifts, there are set minimums which you'd have to fulfill before gifting a work. These minimums are as follows:

Writing: 750 words

Art: A completed work/Something you'd feel good about receiving as a gift

Playlist: Either 30+ minutes long, or consisting of 10+ songs

Webweave: 5 elements

Since there are too many art forms for us to provide the minimums of, we ask that for anything not mentioned in the guidelines, we ask that the work provided is a complete one, and one you'd feel good about receiving. If you are still in doubt, you nay always reach out to us in our asks or open a ticket in the discord!

July 17th - 14th August: Tagset nominations

August 1st - August 31st: Sign-ups

August 1st: Discord server opens

September 1st: Event start

October 1st: Cooldown* removed

October 31st: Official end date of event, assuming there are still players remaining at this point

* At the start of the event, players must wait 24 hours before attacking again. If the event goes on long enough, this mechanic will be removed

What is HeartSteal?

HeartSteal is an event that would take place in September. As you might be able to tell from the name, this event is inspired by the LifeSteal SMP's stealing mechanic... except with gifts! So, you gift a work– you steal a heart!

All players start with 5 hearts, and the maximum amount of hearts you can get is 10! There is also a 24 hour cooldown for stealing hearts.

An additional mechanic in this event is that players have the opportunity to form their own teams. Teams may reach out to the mods in order to get their very own channel, however having a team is not a must!

Players that are out also have a chance to bless or curse another player with a gift, A.K.A. gift or take a heart!
