BBC Merlin really had the audacity to stick these two gay boys together, fill an entire 5 seasons with sexual subtext, hopeless pining, absolute fluff and angst and lines such as “I’m teaching him some poetry” and Arthur only ever wanting Merlin as a servant and not anyone else and Merlin being treat as Arthur’s literal mistress only to kill off one side of the same fricken coin on Christmas fricken eve.
