    “Still have three years left. Then med school hopefully.” Typing the address into the phone under Tim’s contact, Maddie shook her head softly at the mention of Stephanie. “Not sure if that’s still a thing actually.”

"Doctor? I knew a few doctors.." Conner chuckled, "Even long after its a thing, she's branded her name on his heart and that's for good... trust me, nothing makes you forget first love" He swallowed, thinking of a girl, and a beach, and the first time he heard a heart stop.

"Er... Sorry, thanks, stubborn jackass fails to keep his best friend in the loop of who and where he is half the time."

She could have sworn she heard fight instead of flight, rolling her eyes a bit she sighed running her fingers through her hair. At least they were taking this all in stride? He’d been dead, everything had changed for them all and then he was back— and she didn’t know what to do about that.

"You go first, Kon." she needed to know where his mind was, so she could gauge her own reaction. But the truth was— she would probably be yelling by the time they were done at some point. If not for any other reason than she had too much built up inside.

"I was gone. I was gone and you lived and Tim and Bart did too, you mourned, but you didn't wallow, and now I'm back, and I'm pretty much exactly how I left. So I don't... fit, anymore, not with the gang, and especially not in the team, as much as I want this to me all confetti and celebration and fiercely passionate kissing. As soon as I saw you, I knew that you were a different Cassandra Sandsmark, still all golden fire, but... different, not bad, never bad, and that got me thinking, maybe I need to relearn Conner, before I can think about Superboy, and... stuff" As he spoke he listlessly swerved through the sky, ebbing and flowing with the breeze almost.

She knew he could, but she didn’t really think about it. Her fingers flexed at her side though she was unable to look away. She was quiet, looking down at her hands for a moment— glancing sideways at him for a moment. She couldn’t hep but be angry at him. He’d left her— he’d.. died and come back.

"I think the second option might be best for now," Angry yes, hurt more, confused by bounds but she shoved off of the ground with her toes, taking to the air. It was— the best thing she’d ever known. It was so much a part of why she’d began this than anything else. "Come on Conner what are you waiting for?"

Peacefully taking off and landing was never Conner's strong suit, but the way the air hung, a crater from blasting off was probably not the best. So he gently drifted up to meet her, flashes of so many moments shared in midair with her dancing across his mind. Since he came back, in the air was where he felt most like himself.

"I have a feeling this is going to be a long flight.. should I start? Or do you want to?"

She grinned, though said nothing more as she reached over to scratch Krypto behind the ear. More telling him not to worry she’d take care of him with a scratch but she knew that might not help anything. This was hard on them both. 

When he spoke her heart clenched, she wanted to rage a bit— you were gone, you left me alone to figure out everything. Left me without someone to hold me up— so I had to figure out how to stand up on my own again. But instead she gave him a half smile, damn him. “You are so on, don’t even think you can top me… I’m better.” She might not have been Bart, but she would do whatever she could to beat him.

He could hear her heart rate spike, she was angry, and what could he say? Maybe it wasn't rational but he wasn't about to blame her, he left, he died and when he came back, he all but disappeared again.

"First one to the barn, loser buys lunch?" He stood there ready and waiting for either a race, or to get screamed at. "Or we could...fly and talk like we used to."

Her lips curved a bit at his comment, that was true anyway. In a way— Con and Cassie were doing almost the exact same thing. Distancing themselves from what hurt. Eyes rolling the blonde fell into step, “I guess, but remember I’m from California.” She let silence hang, as she shoved her hands into her jacket. There was no eagle on her chest, as proud of that as she was— she still wore it on a necklace. Pride in the amazon’s that had given her a chance. What was sh really doing with it. “You could have called me back.”

"Blonde and sun kissed, how could I forget?" He hooked his head inland, "Its a few thousand miles that-a-way." He smiled as Krypto dropped the Frisbee at his feet, "Good boy, now home, I'll be along in a minute."

The dog whined, as if he didn't want to leave his human alone, bad things happened to his humans when he wasn't around, but he took off away from the ocean.

"I should have. Its just...weird, for me, everything...I don't know how Kal did it. Just came back like it was a day off..." The boy sighed, and took a few steps before stopping, "Should I give you a head start too? Or can you keep up?" He looked over his shoulders with a faint shadow of his smirk, playing his lips.

Cassie shook her head, folding her arms as she rolled her eyes to the sky. “Can’t a girl just check on someone that doesn’t return phone calls? You’re worse than Tim, Conner.” At least lately, and that had bothered her more than she wanted to admit to anyone. They all kind of went on their separate paths but she needed them. Maybe they didn’t need her as much anymore but she kind of forced her presence on Tim— someone had to make sure that Red Robin ate something.

"Impossible. Dude's so deep in it..." He trailed off, a witty remark escaping him. He whipped the disk out again, sending the white hound out over the water again. "My phones been off, just... keeping busy at the farm, and stuff" He stood and turned to the blonde with a half-hearted smile. His plaid work short was open, and a distinct lack of red and black was underneath. "I've actually got a few miles of fence to fix, but if you wanna join me we can talk if you want.
