Thank You Hebden Bridge
Thank you to Everyone involved in the @Hebdenfolkroots Festival behind the scenes and on all the stages in town. This is a people’s festival and without everyone coming together as a community, it would not work. There are so many people to Thank including the brilliant committee, volunteers, all the pubs and venues in town and all our amazing performers who were outstanding. A big big Thank You to our Sponsors, without you we wouldn’t be able to showcase our amazing Town and Talent.
Here is just alittle snippet of why @hebdenfolkroots Festival is so diverse and full of music, dance, storytelling and more.. as we said in our press release many months ago 'All the worlds a stage and Hebden Folk Roots Festival has certainly captivated a wide range of amazing performers and musical styles for your entertainment.’ Our images really proves this.
Thank YOU to Craig Shaw for his dedication at capturing the Folk Roots Festival. Here are some more for your viewing pleasure. Here are a few quotes below from our Committee Members.
Dave Boardman who booked many of the Main Acts at Hope Baptist Chapel said "Hebden Bridge was alight with sunshine, music, dancing and everyone was in a good mood over folk roots. The community showed how much talent and good feeling there is, many people gave their time and skills - and equipment - to contribute to another great festival weekend for the valley. As the saying goes that was so Hebden Bridge" Dave Boardman
"Helen who looked after the Americana/Bluegrass and World Stage this year at the Hebden Bridge Trades Club said “ It was an amazing Weekend full of music, entertainment and crowds of people enjoying themselves and dancing. Great Bands, Great Music, Great vibe. " Helen Hutchinson
Phil has been keeping everyone on the straight and narrow along with Ann Jones, a big Thank You to them. Phil start “This has been our 4th Hebden Folk Roots festival! It’s becoming an established part of the music calendar. Our objective has always been to make Folk Roots music available through out the town, in pubs and on the streets as well as our two great venues at the Trades and Hope Baptist Church. Once again we have succeeded and that is thanks to the hard work and dedication of the volunteers, none of whom are paid, and to the pubs, venues and local council who support us as well as our sponsors. We couldn’t do it without them. And last but not least to the wonderfully talented musicians and performers without whom we wouldn’t have a festival.” Phil Kennedy
“A programme jam-packed with amazing singers, musicians and songwriters. Songs of love, songs of protest and dissent, songs to make your soul soar.” Sarah Courtney
As this festival was dedicated to the musical genius ‘Michael Linden West’ who contributed and performed at the Hebden Folk Festival, sadly and suddenly passed away before the festival. We will leave you with Mick’s last and final words below. See you all in May 2019 :)
