So my dad is actually still pretty into video games, it’s just he doesn’t get a lot of time to play them, oftentimes he’s on call for entire weeks just slaving away in his computer, rarely coming out of the room to even talk, occasionally I see him eat but that’s on good days. Just this last week he was up since 1 am on a call until 7pm. So suffice it to say he doesn’t get a lot of free time.
So I started buying games for him that he’d like to play, and it started with Wolfenstein the new colossus, which he loved! He played the original a lot along with doom and next I let him pick the game after that.
He then proceeded to damn near 100% horizon zero dawn
And believe me when I say I have never seen a man in his late 40’s light up as much as I have hearing him talk about his little adventures with Aloy. He adores that game with his whole soul.
And recently after about a year long break and after the animal crossing fever died out when quarantine was lifted, he’s playing god of war 2018 again, and absolutely loving every second (even if he struggles a bit with the difficulty and mechanics sometimes) but the reason I tell all of you this is because of the greatest text I ever got from my father
I love you dad, keep up the good work.
