Fantastic, moody inspiration.

He is the Witch Boy apparition; he appears only once every Halloween.  He soars across the sky in a flash of black and fiery orange, stirring our imaginations, tempting us to believe in the impossible. 

At one time, he craved human company, and he sought friendship.  Any connection he managed to form in a day quickly withered away after years of separation (though they be but days for him).  Frustration plagued him, and renunciation of human friendship became his easiest path.

Nevertheless, not a day (or year) ends without him once again wondering if it would be worth it to try again, to break his death-cold malaise...

Here’s to a fellow practitioner of life drawing from my hometown :)

Studying new expressions now. 

Upper left is a simplification of the immediately previous post; I was trying to identify the key elements of the facial expression in that one.  Middle is a study from a photograph I took of myself in my bathrobe XD, and upper right is my attempt at representing the facial expression on the middle figure on the graphically designed character Princess Jasmine.  Her neck’s not quite right, but I think the expression carried over well, even if it’s a bit out of character for her.
