I am a very bad man. >)
On that day, the zero fucks Gaius had were unleashed on the world.
Hey there! I know you haven't been active on this blog for quite some time but just in case you see this, I started a Livia blog recently (tribunuslivia) and am kind of desperate for a Gaius. So if you ever fancy returning to the muse and would be willing to plot, please shoot me a message. :)
Soon my friend. Soon.
"YOUR STILL ALIVE"?! The Miqote exclaimed in shock. "BUT-BUT HOW"?! O.O
“You speak unto me as if I should know you.”

“Sacrifice…?”
-To say Terra was skeptical—or did not understand—was an understatement. Then again, the world was vast and held infinite possibilities, and she was only now beginning to explore them, so how could she possibly understand at this point? Most only saw Terra as a tool, to be discarded when her services or usefulness came to an end.-
-She hated that feeling. Experiencing that was something Terra never wanted to revisit again.-
“…Oh.”
-It seemed during her swim through the mire of her own thoughts, they had arrived at their destination. Terra’s spirits sank at the prospect of encountering unfamiliar faces that would immediately ridicule them for their stance, but such was the choice she had made. It was time to own up to it.-
“…What should we do, sir?“
“What indeed,” he would reply, then chuckle underneath that mask. Gaius obviously intended to defend himself and his compatriots, should anyone dare to raise a hand to them. He did not suspect the common citizens of Calcheth would do such a thing, but zeal knew no bounds once it had reached a fever pitch. This was to be quest for information, confirm what he knew, confirm what the Sage knew. Ultimately, whatever he found here, Gaius would determine which was the right path to take.
“I have dispatched agents within the towns to observe and record, but not to interfere. For the moment we are not to engage unless absolutely necessary---as I have mentioned before. After all, even if we were to act in earnest, that would not procure the desired effect. Confirmation on both ends must be made, else we would continue to spiral in this cycle of falsehoods. Until then, stay by my side, my child. No harm shall come to you.”
What is your muse's motivation in their CT!verse? What drives them? What do they consider most important to them?
Gaius is motivated by one thing, and this probably reflects the Rebel creed to a T; to sever the “shackles” that the Crystals have imposed upon them. To that end, he will do what must be done. If that involves mowing aside anyone that stands in his way, so be it.
Naturally that wouldn’t bring about positive results every time, which is why he made that lengthy speech in “The Courage To Disobey.” Zeal is one of Gaius’s biggest foes concerning influencing the masses, and before he can make any headway, he had to place some doubt so that the citizenry wouldn’t blindly follow the Quartiers---have them think for themselves so to speak. It is a big gamble, one that may not succeed. Don’t tell Gaius that, though. lol
Tomorrow morning I need to give it ye old tyme college try. I’ll do my replies then. Night folks.
Concerning “The Courage To Disobey.”
I know a few mini-threads had popped up shortly after the story submission I entered, but seeing as how the thread has finally brought the rebel party in question to Calcheth, if you feel like you want to enter this thread, send me an ask here or here. We’ll discuss and figure out when to sneak you in post-haste. >)

-That was a question that Terra did not expect. The answer, however, as stupid as it might have seemed, was the obvious one.-
“I would not know what to do with that knowledge, even if I asked.”
-There wasn’t even her usual hesitation.-
“…I do not understand any of that. Or any other emotion, for that matter. I just…don’t know a thing. Why I’m here, what I’m suppose to do…if any of this is the right path. My heart feels heavy. All I can do is move forward, since I have nothing to look back to.”
-It seemed that Terra had gone off a tangent and into a rant. Perhaps Gaius didn’t want to listen to the ramblings of an obviously younger person. The powers that she possessed indicated she was more than human; it wasn’t in her best interests to consider herself as one.-
“…That’s why I decided to do this. I just wanted you to know that…sir.”
“So you are like the newborn babe, a clean slate from an emotional standpoint, whereas you possess the knowledge of such things yet not the wherewithal to understand what it is you possess. What a pity.”
For a brief instance, Gaius shook his head. “Very well, I shall tell you. For most it is sacrifice. Humanity, and even the beastkin, would give their all if it was for the one they cherish the most---whether it is familial obligation, romantic, or even friendship. It drives us, makes us capable of feats we would not be able to do on our own. Ah,” he eventually said, cutting off the conversation at that precise moment. For it need not be said that before him, the town of Calcheth was before them at last.
“We have arrived.”
∞ The Courage To Disobey ∞
-Terra looked at the crowd and her face tensed up as if expecting the pelting of vegetables to begin. Yet this would not come; the crowd remained silent, much to her relief. Of course, this was not because they were afraid of Terra. It was more likely for them to kick her down when she was at her worst.-
-No, they were afraid of the man leading them.-
-Perhaps it was the reputation that preceded him, or it was his appearance, but none dared attack or approach Gaius. There were some benefits for this, and right now Terra was basking in such a benefit, even if it wasn’t in the literal sense. There was a reason he was a commanding officer in this little rebellion that was being undertaken, and Terra was witnessing it firsthand.-

Gaius was armed to the teeth, and he wore a rather intimidating ensemble for war. Coupled with his already astute military mind, Gaius is a force to be reckoned with, human or no. Lesser men would not dare approach him for fear of their own lives, however significant they were. Still, that did not guarantee peace on his end, but at the very least, he would not be caught unaware.
Calcheth was starting to draw closer. During this transition, Gaius seemed to be more than charitable in conversation. After all, anyone would grow bored of simply traveling without some form of downtime. At least that was how he was raised to be.
"Child," he began, "you once told me you wanted to understand human emotion, such as love. Do you wish to know what is the most powerful form of love?"
"Hmph," Gaius managed to get out, which was nothing short of a guffaw. "At this rate, they will destroy themselves from within." Time to turn my attentions on other matters. And thus the campaign continued, away from watchful eyes.
so apparently “Gaius van Baelsar” is an anagram of “Valuing a bare ass”

On this evening, what started as a search for alloy to maintain Heirsbane became a massacre of devilkin.
Got my posts taken care of. If you want to plot bother me here or here. For now I'll be here, and then most likely here. Because I've kept people waiting long enough.

"Yes sir…"
-That seemed to be an all encompassing “yes” to Gaius’s questions and statements. Terra would dust herself off, and nod solemnly, indicating she was ready to move on. The going would not be easy, but the real challenge would present itself when they arrived at their destination, at Calcheth.-
-It was safe to say Terra still had lingering doubts about this, but she would not falter now. Not when this might hold some answers for her as well.-
"I’m ready to go at any time."
Thus, they were both agreed, and Gaius would be the first to exit, putting aside the thoughts of the previous announcement and moving on to their target destination. They would soon be accompanied by an entourage dressed in sable black, their "backup" as it were, once Terra had decided to move along with the rest of them. A procession had formed then, accompanied by some onlookers that remained silent. Whether or not they supported him, or looked at him like a scapecoat, they knew full well what would happen if they chose to act in violence.

The open world would then stretch out before them. Here was to hoping they would arrive without further incident.
"Come."
