What happens with aroace coded characters in fandoms that really annoys me:

Frodo Baggins: never involved in a relationship, loves his friends — fandom: he’s so in love with Sam, he even lets him and his family live with him

Bilbo Baggins: never married, dedicates his life to writing, adopts Frodo and loves him like a son — fandom: I ship him with Thorin so much

Sherlock Holmes: dedicated his life to his work, very loyal to his friends, never married or had a real relationship — fandom: he’s in love with Irene! He’s in love with John!

Aziraphale & Crowley: canonically ace according to the book, poster characters for a qpr — fandom: why don’t they just f**k? Why don’t they just k**s? This is queerbaiting!

There are probably more examples because it’s definitely a pattern.

Why do high ranking people, in any kind of story when they need to go to a blackmarket or something always go in the fanciest cloak they can find? Like who looks at a birght red cloak with golden embroidery and thinks, yes! This will be completely unassuming in one of the poorest districts of the city! Like srs?!?

Due to my first language not being english I always think of W as Vee (as in the sound) which is why i am always confused when listing to Death by dying and someone says O.W.

It's been a while since I last rambled about death by dying, so here it is.

I really appreciate how there's no indication of any romance between O.W. and Charlotte.

In a world where most media HAS to have a romance element and most fandom experience is centred around shipping, I find it really refreshing to see a character go to great lengths for someone they aren't romantically involved with.

A lesser show would've paired them up back in season 1, but the team behind it had made it very clear to the audience that this isn't that type of story.

Charlotte and O.W are best friends, They admire and trust each other, and that's all there is to it because there has to be.

No implied crush, not "will they won't they".

Gimme more friendships who are just as well developed and meaningful as if they were written as a romance. Let me see friends who will walk into hell and back for each other.

Skeleton-based characters are a gender all of their own. Skeletor, Death from the discworld books, Skullduggery Pleasant, Jack Skellington, etc etc...........
