“Uh, maybe not for bathroom breaks.” As soon as he was pulled closer, he shifted to settle beside him more comfortably. He’d always been the type to want to settle down, but when he’d gotten into hunting, it didn’t seem like that was something that would be happening anytime soon. That was, of course, until he’d met Sam—and he was glad he wouldn’t have to face the trouble of keeping the lifestyle a secret, like he’d done before.
“What for?” Despite the question, he did just that—allowed his eyes to drift to a close, itching to know what he had up his sleeve. When he did open them, brows furrowed for a brief moment of confusion before the realization struck him. Dmitri stared for what felt like a long time, and eventually, a sheepish grin broke out onto his lips. “Wait, is this, like.. Real? Seriously—please tell me it’s real.”
“It’s real.” Sam tightened an arm around his lover’s waist, his vacant hand finding his cheek before he dragged his thumb across the line of his cheekbone, “Will you marry me, Dmitri?” His voice was barely more than a whisper as he leaned near enough that he might place a kiss against the crook of his neck.
He removed the ring from the container in which it was held, sliding it over Dmitri’s ring finger before, finally, he leaned in to place a kiss against his lips, “I don’t know what I would do without you, and I think that this is the last step in making it official between us. What do you say?”
