This is a little spell jar I did to promote my own self love and self care! This is not something that I plan to bury, but rather keep in my space as a reminder to continue my journey of loving and caring for myself. It was such a nice uplifting experience to make💕
💖Materials💖
🌸 A glass jar of your choosing that can be sealed with a cork or lid 🌸 Fire proof container, incense burner, mortar and pestle 🌸 Rose quartz 🌸 Self love sigil 🌸 Rose and frankincense incense for love and peace from insecurity and anxiety 🌸 Cinnamon 🌸 Nutmeg 🌸 Dried rosemary 🌸 Dried rose petals or rosebuds 🌸 Sugar 🌸 Pink Himalayan salt 🌸 Pink candle
💖What to do💖
🌸 Burn the incense and self love sigil 🌸 Combine with mortar and pestle and pour into jar 🌸 Add the following into the jar in this order: cinnamon, nutmeg, rosemary, sugar, pink salt and then top up with rose petals/buds 🌸 Cleanse and charge your rose quartz, hold it in your hands and think loving thoughts about yourself then add into jar 🌸 Create a list of things you love/enjoy about yourself 🌸 Light pink candle, look into the flame and read your list aloud 🌸 Put cork on the jar and seal with the candle wax 🌸 Charge overnight in moonlight and place jar somewhere you will see it often
Let me know if you make this and how it works out for you!! Love, light and blessings my dear friends 💖

Hey witchy friends and divination enthusiasts! Since I recently made a post on some tips for choosing a Tarot deck, I thought I’d include a post about deck interviews too. If you’re unfamiliar with deck interviews or maybe you’ve just never done one yourself, these are some tips that explain a little bit about the process. You can find plenty of deck interview spreads online or on Instagram, but please feel free to make up your own!
For me, my set up is usually as follows:
Card 1: Who are you? or What is your personality?
Card 2: What do I need to know about you?
Card 3: What are your strengths? (You can draw multiple cards for this).
Card 4: What are your weaknesses? (You can also do multiples for this one).
Card 5: Who am I to you? or What is my personality to you?
Card 6: What are you here to teach me/help me with/etc.?
Card 7: How can I best work with you?
You’re welcome to use this if you’d like but it’s only one example! As always, do whatever feels best to you. You can make your deck interview as long or as short as you like or ask whatever questions you feel necessary.
I’m always available to chat if you have questions and you can find me here or on Instagram @readingsbylily. ✨

Full Moon in Aquarius
🌙 3rd August 2020
If I should describe this full moon with just one world, it would be Change. Get ready for some unexpected events happening in your life, because August’s full moon will be squaring Uranus - the most unpredictable planet.
You cannot predict what will happen but you can prepare. Remind yourself to stay flexible and be able to quickly adapt to anything that comes up. Don’t get too discouraged if your plans don’t seem to work out, the best thing you can do right now is to go with the flow.
You might want to take risks and be rebellious, but try not to get swayed into acting irrationally. Now may not the best time to take risks. Wait a few days and think before you act.
Another aspect of happening during the full moon is Mercury opposite Saturn, which will be exact on this day as well. This may cause misunderstandings and issues with communications. We should try to make our messages as clear as possible, so there is no space for anyone to misunderstand them. Also, watch out for being too harsh on others and thinking in a overly negative way.
Get ready to possibly experience mood swings, become easily distracted and feel an erratic energy surrounding you. This full moon could be very emotionally draining to some, but try staying open-minded, flexible and most importantly, stay patient.
I wish you a blessed full moon. Make sure to work with the energy and go with the flow, not against it✨
Light of Life Spell
Note: this spell is intended to be used in conjunction with professional help. Always talk to a medical professional if you have suicidal ideation!
This spell I created because recently I’ve had an uptick in mild suicidal ideation, so this is meant to help counteract that a bit.
Need:
A candle, preferably a tealight to represent the light of hope and life
Dragonsblood incense for protection of the light and to banish negativity
A quartz crystal
Allspice to provide determination, heal, and give luck
Sage to purify, diminish negativity, and act as a balm to grief and loss
What to do:
Dress the candle with the allspice and sage
Let the candle and incense, waft the incense around the candle flame
Murmur with great intent and determination I want to live
Charge the quartz with the candle flame
Let the incense and candle burn down if possible
Carry the quartz with you as a reminder. Touch it whenever you have suicidal thoughts and think I want to live
Best done in the morning light or during a dark time.
Witchcraft for the Chronically Fatigued
Fatigue looks at things such as tiredness, drowsiness, exhaustion, weakness, lethargy and memory issues and says “I can do all that and more!”. It leaves you feeling utterly trapped in your own body; unable to move, or even think at times. It fluctuates, but is always looming.
While this post is open for all, it is written for those who truly relate to this all-consuming feeling (due to ME/CFS, other chronic illnesses, mental illness, or undiagnosed causes). Not all of these may work for you, but hopefully they inspire something that will. For general low energy witchcraft, check out my Bedridden Witch Series!
As always: witchcraft is to be used in addition to proper medical care, treatment and medication; not as a sole alternative.
To draw energy:
If you cannot produce your own, magically created will be just fine!
Crystals.
I tend to use clear quartz for an energy boost, but trust your intuition; if something calls to you, it’s for a reason.
Keep it near your bedside table, under your pillow, hold it in your hand or place it on your body where you feel the fatigue most strongly centered.
When on the go, carry it in your pocket or wear as jewelry. If it is larger, carry in a bag and hold it when you need it.
Charge using a charging board or the elements.
Crystals for fatigue
Waters.
Physically touching water brings me energy. I keep jars of snow, rain, storm, river, stream (etc, etc.) water and will dip my fingers in it and mark that parts of my body where the fatigue feels strongest. Be aware of pollutants and do not ingest!
The same method can be done with tap water (or water charged under the sun or moon)
Drink sun water or sun tea (start with drinking safe water and let it absorb the energies of the sun).
Some people find moon water to be energizing (same process as above, just with the moon).
See also: Bedridden witch: Bath edition.
Other elements.
Note what is energizing to you and what is draining to you. Consider: the sun, moon (and it’s phases), weather (rain, overcast, snow, storm, wind), cold vs. hot, the earth, fire, air, etc.
Once you find which elements are energizing to you, find ways to incorporate them into your life. Examples: jars of different waters or soils, rocks collected from places, candles, and more.
I usually draw energy up from the earth by placing my palms flat towards the earth by the sides of my body. So if I was lying down, my arms would be at my sides with my palms facing down.
Expose yourself or protect yourself. I’ll use my personal experiences as an example here… Rain often energizes me. When it rains, I’ll open my windows, and if I’m able I’ll step outside or collect some water. On the flipside, full moons often drain me. I’ll close my windows and curtains, hang an extra blanket over my bedroom window, use water to paint protective sigils on the window and increase my wards.

Practicing the craft with energy limitations:
Tips and tricks:
I highly recommend preparing things when your energy allows, so it’s always ready to go when you need it (and isn’t dependent on current energy levels).
Cleansing: Let other things do your work for you. Open your windows/get fresh air, steam or smoke, sound, etc. Bedridden energy cleansing.
Divination: Use apps when physical movement is hard. One card spreads, shorten your pendulum so you don’t need to lift your arm, divine using the elements, etc. Bedridden divination.
Spells: Make your own spell kits. Spell jars and sachets are also an excellent way to already have the spell prepared, set it up so you can simply shake it to re/activate the spell.
Warding: Create physical ties for your wards that aren’t reliant on consistent upkeep (as a failsafe), and reinforce your other ward layers when you have the energy. I create far more layers than I need so when I am unable to reinforce them, they still protect me.
Worship: Compile prayers and devotions somewhere you can easily find and read them, have a wall altar for easy maintenance, keep offerings simple (a glass of water, for example). Bedridden worship.
