I had a random idea, what if Iida and Toga were childhood friends?

(AU no canon behind this)

Basically, I imagine they met in elementary school, Iida being socially awkward and Toga having issues they end up bonding. Since she is not rich they end up going to different middle schools. They still talked over the phone but one day (the day Toga killed a student and ran away) they stopped talking and it made Iida sad because he didnt know what happened since she went to a diffrent school.

He saw her again during the camp training and both had like a very emotional re connection. They both decided to hide this friendship in secret. So they still visit each other. The league doesn't know about Iida and Class 1A doesn't know about Toga.

I feel like despite Iida having a stick up his ass he was taught by his momma to never ever snitch on someone stealing lady products, in fact, I feel like she set an example for him by always paying for lady products for ladies she sees in public doing that.

And so I feel like he has no problem buying them for the girls and doesn't mind the stares he gets when he's in the section.

The same thing with Bakugo, he could give less of a shit about that stuff. But unlike Iida, he can talk about it casually.

SO, when both Iida and Bakugo are sent on a shopping trip for groceries and personal products for the others and they see a lady putting some in her bag, Bakugo is already looking the other way while Iida is making it his personal mission to help her.

Bakugo is like trying to stop Iida from marching up to her thinking he's gonna say some stupid shit only for Iida to demand that he pays for her products so that she doesn't have to risk getting caught, and also makes sure she grabs anything else she might need for herself.

And so, Bakugo is standing there shell-shocked while following them as Iida escorts her to the front to pay for all the things.

And, maybe, just maybe, he has a horrifying realization that 'holy shit he's hot AND respectful!?!??!?!'
