What if

During the Voltron coalition Coran gave Lance a love interest, and because of Lance’s crush on Allura, Coran made them pretend to be together (Allura would probably agree if it helped the coalition) 

BUT you know, since Allura was pretending to be Keith at the time when they did all the shows,

Image Keith coming back to Voltron and like the entire coalition and fanbase expects Lance and Keith to be together

Bonus: Lance gets used to flirting with 'Keith' that he actually slips and flirts with the actual Keith when he gets back
