As a rule of thumb, don't reblog donation posts or people asking for donations unless they've been vetted and reblogged by Palestinian bloggers. We usually go to lengths to verify this shit because we know scammers have been faking to get people to send them money, using the urgency of our genocide as bait.

It's disgusting this is what we're dealing with, but people are losing money because of some truly evil people out there.

Accounts don't just randomly spring up on tumblr without gofundmes while asking for someone to help them create a campaign. Fuck out of here with that shit.

I'm also gonna stop listing the reasons why I recognize something is a scam. It's becoming more and more clear there is 1 person behind this STRING of scams and they're leaving less trails behind but it still reeks of them and their MO.

DO NOT TRUST ANY GOFUNDME OR REQUEST FOR CROWDFUNDING THAT PALESTINIAN BLOGGERS HAVEN'T VERIFIED.

At this point I'm fine receiving a bunch of inbox messages asking me to vet x y z so y'all can avoid this shit. But please have some critical thinking!

Recently, a mutual of mine ( @mahoganyrust ) had their art stolen by an account named 7dreamycloudscapeskies55blog, who shamelessly used ai to do so.

Mahognay asked this person to stop, putting up a post discussing how this type of behavior towards the art community was wrong.

However, earlier today, I was scrolling through Tumblr and saw another one of these posts. This one was from a different account:

I messaged my friend to notify them, and we both came to the conclusion that these "accounts" were actually bot accounts. (They both end with a set of numbers and the word "blog".)

If you see accounts similar to this, please don't like them or reblog them. Even without the usernames, it's obvious these accounts are mostly for stealing art and using ai.

As to those stealing art (in any way), please stop. These artist have put hours upon hours into their work, and they didn't do that just for you to post it as your own with the press of a few buttons. It is especially rude to slap ai art over it. That is still stolen, and that isn't art.

There is a difference between being inspired and stealing someone else's work. Even if it is just inspiration, in which you created something original based on someone else's idea or work, it's still good to give credit where credit is due.

If it isn't yours, then don't say it is.

Tldr: Any Tumblr accounts that end in numbers and the word "blog" please report them and don't boost them by liking or reblogging. These accounts are bot accounts made for stealing other's art and using ai.

Do you know anything i can donate to for palestine that's not the gofundmes because the idea of having to choose who needs my money more is just. scary to me they all need it 3: maybe there's a thing that splits/distributes money evenly???? idk but help would be appreciated

Gazafunds actually deals with this anxiety and makes a decision for you if you want. Their home page has a spotlighted fundraiser and the code consider things like how close the gfm is to finishing, when the most recent donation is, etc. So it's randomized to help as many people as possible.

There's also @helpgazachildren which if you donate, you can help multiple people at once since it's a whole mutual aid fund, or at least close to it. Hussam distributes money to people who need it when he's asked.
